Re: The Dons visit the University...V Milton Keynes Home. 3-0'clock 15-11-2019

I'm sure that Hill will have a replacement lined up in January for Crawford & there was a rumour last night from an ex agent that Ben Marshall may be signing in the next week or so (apparently, on a pay as you play deal), but that rumour may be absolute bollocks. I also happen to think that we will...

Re: The Dons visit the University...V Milton Keynes Home. 3-0'clock 15-11-2019

Anyone got an idea as to what Buckley is injured with and when he is back? He played centrally under Hill before. He might help create some chances. The three centre mids were all a bit samey to me yesterday. Crawfords a miss. Fractured kneecap 6 weeks ago. Shouldn't be far off unless there is liga...

Re: League One 2019/20

I still don't really see it. If we had no further points deductions its still a long shot. With further points to come off - and who knows how many....I'd say more than a long shot. There is no point being defeatist, till it is impossible we fight. But the mathematics are not in our favour. Lets sa...

Re: Deduction prediction

Are the powers that be under the impression we wanted to avoid games and start the season with a massive bag of coconuts round our necks? Rules are rules, fair comment, but we're a struggling to stay alive club not villains incorporated. None of all this is the fault of the present club but the flo...

Re: The next manager

In his previous managerial tenures did Nolan's teams play an attractive style of football? Is he seen as being tactically astute, or more of a 'man manager' type? For a multitude of reasons I think it is imperative that the new owners hire a coach who promotes attacking football and is willing to in...

Absolute shellacking. Villa are the best team in the division with Grealish back.

Re: Under the Milkwood Tree....Versus Swansea away 2-2-2019, 3-0'clock.

League One now looks inevitable next season, but that may not be too disastrous. With new ownership, probably a new manager and hopefully a focus on playing more attractive football and promoting young players we could have a winning season and bounce back up at the first time of asking. By my recko...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Good news, Luca Connell can still be sold outside the window as he isn’t on a pro contract. Might help Ken’s bottom line 🙄 Iles played that down this morning. Let's hope this takeover happens asap and we can tie him down to a pro deal. Played it down yet ran the story? He’s a tit. Played down Brigh...

Re: Bolton Under 23's the Champs.

I understand the point about Parky, and I accept that he might genuinely be reluctant to play younger players, but it runs deeper than that in my opinion. The primary purpose of an Academy is to produce players that are good enough to play football professionally, not necessarily just players who a...

Re: Bolton Under 23's the Champs.

So despite our U23s winning their league last year, so far this season Bolton have given fewer minutes of first team football to players under 23 than any other team in the football league. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dylt6KsWoAEX4oe.jpg:large To me this is an absolute disgrace, especially given our...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )

Meh. Anyone doing their due diligence would know that anyway. Very true, they’ll know of its existence, but not necessarily who’ll be left with it. Just a thought, because surely he’s not as crass as to just hoik the price. Or... Hard to know what the truth of this situation is. Clearly whomever is...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I just hope he has some sort of affiliation with the club, enough to sign a deal with a release clause in it at least. To lose him for a nominal fee would be a massive kick in the bollocks, worse than anything else that’s gone on recently! I agree completely, we absolutely cannot afford to lose pla...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Or raise your tribunal fee. What’s the point in academies at our level? There aren't going to be that many players who are good enough before signing a professional contract to court attention from the Prem. This situation is a feck up on Bolton's behalf, as Connell now appears to be our best player.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Connell's performance on Friday was pretty much the only good thing which has happened at this club all season. If he's allowed to leave on a free to sit in Burnley's reserves I think I'll be forced to officially join the pessimist contingent. Not sure its a question of "allowed" is it? He's report...
