He’s not been far more effective than Dempsey recently. I don’t think you’d have many of our fans in your corner for this one.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 9:51 amThomason hasn’t been playing well but still is far more effective than Dempsey has been. So I’m not sure on the logic there. Dempsey becomes invisible too often.

The ‘general on the pitch’ thing I feel is a bit overstated. Iredale also seems to be a vocal leader who battles as hard as anyone.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Thomason & Jones really poor yesterday, I think Thomason needs a rest and Jones although he's one of Evatt's favourites has been poor all season in the RCB position. I know he's decent going forward but Toal is a much better RCB and we need to stop conceding so many goals & IMO Jones is a big reaso...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Regardless of what division we're in, the defence needs looking at in the summer. Yes, we've missed so many gilt-edged chances but we're second top scorers. Pompey and Derby have gone up conceding 10+ fewer. I’m confused as to why Jones is first choice, but next season presumably it’d be a three of...

Thomason’s surely played himself out of the starting lineup for next week.

Maghoma a big miss, but at least gives him a nice rest before the playoffs.

Hopefully we can relax and play our best stuff in the knowledge that 2nd is a long shot. It'd certainly do us no harm to put in a dominant performance in advance of next weekend.
Will the coach be out for this one?

Baxter
Jones Santos Iredale
Sheehan
JDC Maghoma Thomason Ogbeta
Charles Collins
The above is on the proviso that all those players are fully fit.
If Derby are winning at HT then sub off Santos, Sheehan, Maghoma, JDC and Collins.

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I gotta say (in a non-gammon way), that we'd be absolutely gutted if Derby lost and we didn't get what we needed after playing a weak side. If I were resting a few - and I'm not against resting some who might be tired/carrying niggles, I might want to keep them in close proximity to the bench, on t...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
We'll have a week before our first playoff game, so we should put out the best team we can comprised of players who are fully fit. If important players are carrying knocks or need additional rest then don't play them.

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Whatever decision Evatt makes will be the wrong one, unless we go up, by some miracle.. If we go weaker and Derby lose, he'll get panned If we go full strength and Derby win, he'll get panned Automatic promotion is a 100/1 shot, so I think it's pretty clear that the right decision is to not take an...
