I’d sub Sheehan, Santos and Collins shortly.

Even though we twatted Oxford last time, I’d probably prefer we got Lincoln.

Does Thomason make our best XI at present? He’s been rubbish the past few weeks.

I'm not sure on Peterborough's marketing. Posh! Bosh!

What's that all about?
It’s John Fisher, father of heavyweight boxer Johnny Fisher, whose catchphrase is ‘Bosh!’

Maghoma a big miss, but at least gives him a nice rest before the playoffs.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

Hopefully we can relax and play our best stuff in the knowledge that 2nd is a long shot. It'd certainly do us no harm to put in a dominant performance in advance of next weekend.

Will the coach be out for this one?

Baxter

Jones Santos Iredale

Sheehan

JDC Maghoma Thomason Ogbeta

Charles Collins

The above is on the proviso that all those players are fully fit.

If Derby are winning at HT then sub off Santos, Sheehan, Maghoma, JDC and Collins.

Re: The Nostradamus file....

I gotta say (in a non-gammon way), that we'd be absolutely gutted if Derby lost and we didn't get what we needed after playing a weak side. If I were resting a few - and I'm not against resting some who might be tired/carrying niggles, I might want to keep them in close proximity to the bench, on t...

Re: The Nostradamus file....

We'll have a week before our first playoff game, so we should put out the best team we can comprised of players who are fully fit. If important players are carrying knocks or need additional rest then don't play them.

Re: The Nostradamus file....

Whatever decision Evatt makes will be the wrong one, unless we go up, by some miracle.. If we go weaker and Derby lose, he'll get panned If we go full strength and Derby win, he'll get panned Automatic promotion is a 100/1 shot, so I think it's pretty clear that the right decision is to not take an...

Re: The Nostradamus file....

The EFL website now lists the first leg of the third vs sixth playoff tie being scheduled for Saturday May 4th at 3pm. Isn't that quite unlikely, given Sky wouldn't be able to broadcast it at that time?

Re: The Nostradamus file....

If they lose tonight they would need to beat us by 3 goals to finish above us. So though you'd expect them to go stronger against us it sounds like he basically doesn't care if they finish 3rd or 4th so doubt they'll be taking any risks against us. Going to basically be a friendly. I can see the me...

Re: The Nostradamus file....

So Ferguson has said he's going to completely rest his first team tonight, I guess with the intention of playing them in their game vs us. That could play into our hands somewhat, as we could do with a Cheltenham victory and a Cambridge defeat tonight to maximise, our still slim, chances of going up...

Of the playoff contenders, Barnsley are the only team we haven't beaten this season.
You wouldn't be keen for us to get them then?

Re: The Nostradamus file....

I have to say that I really would like to get Barnsley in the first round of the playoffs. In addition to us owing them one from last year, they’re in absolutely horrific form and their fanbase seem to have completely turned on the team and manager.

First game in ages I haven’t been able to watch, but sounds like more of the same from us.

Was Charles any better?

Really hoping we don't risk Santos - he's too important to our playoff hopes and you don't feck about with calf injuries.

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

I think we're in serious trouble if Jerome and/or N'lundulu are having to play significant minutes during the playoffs. Neither are starting calibre League One strikers, for me.
