Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

... And if we sit back and get battered 5-0 anyway, fans will have a moan then as well and say it's back to the bad-old-days. Hill is an experienced manager - I'm sure he'll work out what went wrong yesterday and what needs to be sorted out before Oxford and Sunderland. Hopefully, by the Sunderland...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

If we only have 2 x squad places left, we should use them on a CB (to replace Hobbs, who's just too slow at everything he does) and a fit striker. I didn't go today, but as soon as I saw the team sheet with no D Murphy or O'Grady playing (therefore without a recognised striker) I knew that we would ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Couple of rumours around that we signed another LB yesterday, possibly Meredith ? (perhaps wishful thinking !). I suppose we will find out if true in the next couple of hours.

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Depends who's up top as to how this one goes. Think D. Murphy will be one that is missing at the weekend. Hope Chris O'Grady is in the starting line up as we need some strength in attack. Hoping we can get something out of it. As mad as it sounds I think I'd like to swap the dug outs if it stops th...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

In all of these interviews with the new signings over the past few days, all of the new players come across as decent, hard working, intelligent people. It looks like KH has assembled a decent set of genuine lads who appear to be up for the fight, have bonded & are bought into the challenge and into...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

We are being linked with Dorrans again this morning, would be a great signing in midfield - however I doubt we could afford his salary or even get anywhere near to it.

Re: New ownership - Football Ventures

Its not about the cost or cost saving for me as for the past few years I've not had a ST and have paid individually match by match as I miss a fair few games with work etc. But similar to BP I've bought one today, I'll still miss 5 or 6 games during the season, but its worth it just to hopefully see...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Its a shame as I was quite looking forward to seeing him play, as an attack minded left back who Hill must like having worked with him previously - so he must have been important in regards to how Hill wants to play.

I can't see him being back before December.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Surely we will pick up a free agent on a short term contract until Christmas? It’s been the biggest weak link of our young line up. Bit more on the accident on the BN story, he was driving alone at 4am on Sunday morning. No further details but that doesn’t sound too clever. It doesn't does it....

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I don't think myself or Jugs are asking for a No10, playing off the striker - for me its either a McAteer or Frandsen type who will drive forward with the ball at pace or a Barry Bannan type who can spray the ball around quickly and get us moving up the pitch quicker. It was pedestrian at best under...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I think if we don't get a CAM in there pronto, we'll fall back on the same complaints us fans have had while Parky was here (and especially last season) - dour football, no creative spark, few chances created et cetera. It's okay having the runners but we've been there, done that and were bored to ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Great post on Crawford, DSB, cheers. I'm personally thinking we still need a CAM - a playmaker. Iles created his teamsheet today and stuck Weir in that position. Is he the best we can do, or is there anyone else available? Totally agree with this, we still need a creative / centre midfield playmake...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I hope that he makes a speedy recovery, but this is more bad luck for BWFC....it sounds like he could be out for a while. left back is an important position (as they all are), but I think that Hill will need to bring someone else in ASAP - personally I don't think that any of the kids are good enoug...

Numerous gossip sites suggesting we are about to offer, or already have offered a contract to Joe Dodoo. https://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/2019/9/4/20849013/transfer-gossip-bolton-wanderers-offer-contract-to-former-rangers-forward https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Dodoo Aye and Graham Dorrans ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I think that we will get another 2 or 3 players in before the weekend, even though yesterdays signings were very good the squad as a whole is still not big enough, we've still only basically got a starting XI because we have a few out with injuries. There is no game this weekend. Hill quoted today ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4krs5rdf8fQ Absolutely 100% drawn in with this interview. A lot of positives. "We've got to see the fear in people when they play Bolton Wanderers" <- this Yes I wasn't sure at first, but I'm warming to KH - its his passion that comes through which encourages me (and...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

What a day, topped off with the signing of Murphy....I'd say that we actually have a team better than last year, with a manager who likes to play decent football.

We at least should have a chance of staying up with these signings.

Will Buckley back.
I think that Buckley will be a different player under Hill, the way Hill likes his teams to play - decent re-signing IMO.
