Re: Keith Hill's School For Gifted Youngsters

Its a real worry for me that Hill thinks that Graham is good enough to replace Bridcutt in central midfield. I'm not saying that Graham won't have a good career in football, and he's ok from the bench when needed, but IMO he's not ready to replace Bridcutt until Dec. For me Hill should be trying al...

Re: I wish I'd never left Bolton...v Blackpool H. 8-0 clock 7-10-19.

I actually agree with BWFCI, we are making progress and playing better football than under Parkinson, but we do need more up front & more creativity from midfield, I thought that all the back 4 played well last night - Hobbs, Zouma & Chicksen outstanding but we need to get more players into the box,...

Re: New Kit: 2018/19

In regards to Home Bargains, a few months ago most Bolton fans were hoping that the billionaire owner Tom Morris would buy us because he's so rich - he's now sponsoring us, so IMO that can only be a good thing.

I've seen a different photo of it in the club shop with shorts & socks and it looks ok.

I quite like it & I have no issues with the sponsor....what do people expect, Harrods ? - we've previously had fiberlec, spin & win etc.

Usual meltdown on twitter, its a bloody football kit get a grip....we have had worse.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Rumour doing the rounds that we have signed the Ex Rangers, Leicester & Blackpool striker Joe Dodoo. He was rumoured to be on the radar on deadline day. I don't know much about him, but apparently he's young, quite powerful & fast but hasn't had that many games - IMO its a gamble worth taking and we...

With KH saying that he's putting 'building blocks' in place etc in many of his interviews - has anyone seen anything anywhere regarding the length of contract that he & DF have been given ?

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I's a two sided coin. We're not exactly the land of milk and honey as a fairground attraction right now, more a free ticket to the big dipper (Remember the Bobs at Belle Vue?) In the true nature of ambition, even the most mundane of players always seek the Grail road to glory. A striker will never ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

It sounds like Jake Wright is out of the pompey game, but even with a threadbare squad Keith Hill still doesn't fill the 2 remaining slots, no fit strikers and only 3 fit experienced defenders and he's made a few recent non complementary comments about our young players (that he will need to use at ...

Any of the Saturday match-goers hear any filth being sung about Gary Speed by the Cats supporters that the papers are reporting this morning? Apparently an investigation is underway?
It was sung by a few lads on a coach on the way down not at the actual game

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Hill now saying that its a gamble bringing in free transfers to fill the remaining squad places - my view is that its a bigger gamble not doing. I really don't get his point, surely as long as any players he brings in are not injured we need them in sooner rather than later to get them up to speed a...

Re: Grabbing life by the bullocks. Oxford (H) 17.9.19 KO 8pm

Clean sheet and a point. Gotta be chuffed with that. Yes absolutely, it sounds like they played some great attacking football as well & created a lot of chances, better than owt we have seen for years - which bodes well, hopefully get some wins on the board as they get fitter. We still desperately ...

Re: Grabbing life by the bullocks. Oxford (H) 17.9.19 KO 8pm

Has anybody seen Hill's pre-match video for tonight's game? Hill is quite insistent where he is not looking at the scoreboard and whether we lose or not. He says he is trying to get his message across to the players on how HE wants to plays, his ethos. So I'm thinking I'm not looking too emotionall...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Also, I’m absolutely giving Hill 18 months regardless but his post match comments have somewhat scared me. He’s talking a bit like Coyle did. What we don’t need now is a project. Or a philosophy. What we need is to find a way to be competitive in games ASAP. Restore some pride. Get us looking forwa...

... And if we sit back and get battered 5-0 anyway, fans will have a moan then as well and say it's back to the bad-old-days. Hill is an experienced manager - I'm sure he'll work out what went wrong yesterday and what needs to be sorted out before Oxford and Sunderland. Hopefully, by the Sunderland...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

If we only have 2 x squad places left, we should use them on a CB (to replace Hobbs, who's just too slow at everything he does) and a fit striker. I didn't go today, but as soon as I saw the team sheet with no D Murphy or O'Grady playing (therefore without a recognised striker) I knew that we would ...
