Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Excellent signing, we have needed a proper out & out goal scorer for years - welcome to BWFC Eoin Doyle. If we can get Sarcevic over the line in the next few days, then with Doyle & Ali Crawford re signing along with the potential of Politic & Darcy its looking good for the season ahead, something t...

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Doyle will be a very good signing and I'm sure he will score goals the way Evatt wants to play.

I really hope that we can get Antoni Sarcevic as well, because I think he would be an excellent signing.

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Ian Evatt's football philosophy and style of play will attract some decent players at this level, another rumour is that Eoin Doyle is considering a contract offer from BWFC. Players will want to come & play for Evatt, if he gets us playing decent football the Reebok will be buzzing and at this leve...

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

I'll be very surprised if centre half Matthew Platt at Blackburn is not one of Evatt's 1st signings, apparently out of contract this summer and was a regular for Barrow last season.

Re: New Manager Thread

There is a very impressive 7 min 1st interview with him inside the Reebok (link below), he really does talk well and has a clear plan in how he wants his team to play football.

An exciting appointment without a doubt.

Re: New Manager Thread

Excellent news, its good that the club have given him a 3 year contract, they like most of the fans seem to be bought into him & his football philosophy.

Re: New Manager Thread

Nicko Nixon claims we've sorted the deal for Evatt and all his backroom staff. Good news in my opinion if true. Lets hope so - it would be excellent news, everything that I've heard about him in the past week or so and his football philosophy gives me hope that he can be the start of something good...

Re: The Keith Hill out thread

Between Ricketts or Clough for me, I certainly don't want David Lee which I think would be a huge mistake.

But I can see them possibly looking for someone like Beale if they are looking for a head coach type instead of a manager.

https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2020/june/wanderers-confirm-hill-and-flitcroft-departure/ Gone Bloody excellent news IMO, they can have my ST money for next year now. Re: The Keith Hill out thread

Hi Gents Re: Hill & Flitcroft has it been confirmed yet or is it still just rumoured ?

Some quite strange rumours going around this afternoon that Mr Alan Curbishley has been at the Reebok today, however its probably just someone who looks like him has been spotted at the Middlebrook !!

Re: Tony Dunne R.I.P

He was a very good polished full back, I started watching the whites in 1975, my 1st game being Sunderland at home with 42,000 on and big Sam's bullet header from a Peter Thompson corner, Tony Dunne played in that game.

RIP Tony.

Re: New ownership - Football Ventures

I have to say chaps that it is very sad & quite embarrassing to be honest to be in League 4 (I remember the last time & although it was enjoyable socially as a much younger chap in 87/88, football wise it was shocking with regular crowds of only 3,000), however unfortunately it is what it is and we ...

Re: COVID-19/20 season

Surely this is relatively easy for BWFC, furlough the players and then don't renew any contracts that are due to expire on 30th June (including the manager & assistant manager), then start again from scratch whenever this season starts back up or next season starts. Its not as if we have any decent ...

James Brown had us feeling good for a while....
TD that was goal celebration music not music that the team ran out onto the pitch to.

I was thinking earlier of 'here we go again' by Paul and the Bolton sound, but again it wasn't a song that the team ran out to.

Re: COVID-19/20 season

I actually agree with BWFCI & HG on this. Its highly doubtful that they will resume on 3rd April or even before the official end of the season in May, therefore they will probably have to declare this season null & void. They can't continue to play through the summer as it will have to much of an im...
