Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
Some of Evatts language the past couple of weeks has been extremely defeatist. Next year will be harder etc, Water pistols, leave the disappointment till summer about missing out on 2nd, which hasn't been mathematically confirmed yet. Dampening expectation with 2 to go is really disappointing. We s...

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
I've been so confident that things will go our way. Didn;t see that coming last night a joke of a game. The referees are not just complicit in football being ruined, they actively encourage it. Ref telling the keeper to go to the other side of the area, then giving him the thumbs up. Deliberately t...

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
IMO if we don't go up via the play off's he has to go - end of. He's improved absolutely nothing this season in a weaker league despite good financial backing from FV. I've said it before and I'll say it again tactically he's a robot, everything is pre planned & he isn't flexible enough - look at wh...

Great 3 points - at this stage of the season its about results not performances.
Baxter excellent.

Enjoyed that. played well - top squirters ! Collins & JDB, it was obviously reverse psychology from Evatt all along and it worked. It does make you wonder though after today & Oxford why we can't play like that more consistently ?

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock
I suppose the alternative view is he is taking the pressure off 3 lads who clearly aren’t delivering the goods. Surely he should be firing them up - motivating the lads, telling them how good they are, yes we have injuries but he should be saying that he has so much confidence in them. If a £750k p...

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock
If Collins or JDB score today they should run over to Evatt & squirt water in his face. A packed out expectant home BH crowd, and he comes out with this - its always excuses from him, as you say Nicho the players will certainly be up for the game after this....not ! Very poor management before an im...

I see Evatt's come out with another pre game motivational speech - he never learns.

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm
This is not a blip under Evatt, we've been poor since Pompey away & Dion's shocking miss - btw Dion wasn't exactly scoring for fun in the 7 or 8 games prior to him being injured. I was made up when we 1st got Evatt, with the 'barrowcelona' stuff, fittest team in the league, heavy press, tiring teams...

Don't take this the wrong way Ian (sorry Dave) but I really don't care about your opinion, approval / welcome etc. The fact is I have only enjoyed a handful of games over the past 2 seasons under Evatt. most games send me to sleep, the football is turgid, boring, slow, predictable, robotic. With the...

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm
Mar, decent post that. However, all the points you make IMO are down to the manager i.e. the not trying, galvanising the squad, motivation, apathy, half time team talk, effort levels, mustn't lose. These are all his players playing his system and his tactics. The job of manager isn't just signing pl...

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm
Ian can answer questions at the end of the season if he fails in his objective to get promotion. It’s not good enough with this squad of players - why were the wingbacks not changed? Both were ineffective and he had options that he has signed on the bench. Kyle Dempsey? Aaron Morley? Pointless. Bet...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
I saw no reason as to why we can't overturn a 4pt deficit on Derby to be honest. They'll drop more points than we will in the run-in. There. I said it I'm sorry but our current form is poor 4 wins out of the last 12, what makes people think that all of a sudden we will win 7 out of 7 or even 6 out ...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
XG this & XG that....is this what football has become ! We've won 4 out of the last 12, that's the stat that I'm more concerned about. XG and possession hasn't helped us get the points we should have got since Xmas has it - what do points make ? How would you track how well we are doing? Feelings? ...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
Winning 4 out of the last 12 is very short sighted, as is looking solely on the results. The performances have warranted more than we have got. Majority of the time we'd be seeing better results, the stats back that up aswell (those with a higher xG tend to score more than those that dont). I hones...
