Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

Bit of a bogey team, aren’t they. I remember the away game last season: they were so far superior it was almost laughable. We seem to start really well at home. I think back to that penalty shout for Sheehan in the first 10 against Wigan. I don’t know how convincing it was, but I wonder how things w...

Can’t help but feel we’ll get battered tonight. A loss wouldn’t be so bad, but concerned about morale—particularly after reading Sharon’s letter today. Perhaps the seeming apathy, as far as tickets are concerned, is a good thing. Be really nice to shock some, though. Be great to get CMG firing for h...

Re: A Barrow-ful of silverware. Barrow, H, League Cup R1, 08/08

Seemed to play that high box with CMG and Paris playing very advanced. Worked quite well early on as they found some quick interplay in and around their box. Second half was terrible, really. Thomo trying to speed things up; Paris notably very frustrated at making several fruitless runs; that high b...

Thoroughly enjoyed that. They all looked decent at worst. Particularly enjoyed—despite giving it away twice in dangerous areas—Thommo flying into a couple of challenges. Once fairly.

Looked a good side. I suppose the only worry is the finishing, still.

Iredale and the wing-backs have been excellent. Feel like Cogkey could get/make a few this season. Looks really smart.

Re: Pre-season 2023-24

Charles is half a second too slow with his shots. The link up between him and Vic has been a lot better today. That’s a huge positive innit. I noticed that: a few nice knock-backs; not constantly tripping over each other; V backing in more effectively to free up Dion. Then V can’t find the near pos...

Holy sh—

Was going to congratulate that keeper on single-handedly killing about 10 minutes of the game, but it seems the ref remembered. One-and-a-half minutes after designated added time. Jesus.

Wednesday look like they can score a wide and varied range of goals. They’ve missed many, too.

Posh keeper looks very nervy coming collecting, but in fairness, crosses are coming from all over the place.

What a superb game.

Subs tonight also absolutely abysmal. What Evatt is doing is beyond me. Shoretire on at left wing back is a nonsense. No Kieran Lee on is a nonsense. Jerome on is a nonsense. Thomason should have come on for Morley too. Evatt clearly buckling under pressure. In fairness, he started at 10, but then ...

They are just so much sharper all over the park. Rarely a missed pass or control. Crosses all dangerous. First to every ball. Faster, more aggressive. Worrying. Poor do tonight.

Re: I see no ships; only hardships. V Pompey away, Tues 28th Feb. 7-45.

Trafford’s made several errors; Lee’s been poor by his standards (apart from that wonderful this-way-that-way for Shoretire’s backheel); Bradley’s been both too much and too little. Charles’s link-up hasn’t been there, but in fairness, it’s broken down with him after some ultra-quick and reflexive a...

Some absolute screamers scored in League One yesterday, btw. If you can, take a look at Derby's third and Plymouth's equaliser.
Ipswich’s was tasty as well. Need to be on it to get owt from them.

Re: No Shoot Sherlock..Home to Portsmouth 14th Jan. 3-o'clock.

Johnston and Toal today. My word. Trafford, too, made a few tricky saves, which he made look very easy, without spilling. Nlundulu had a great effort saved for a goal on his debut and looked a handful. He shoulder-barged a Pompey lad into meringue. Hopefully, once he gets up to speed with ‘the patte...

Tiresome now. Constantly breaking down in the centre and so going long. Losing every battle and it comes straight back. Needs a change, and quickly.
