Re: So good they want to play us twice...Home to Portsmouth, Football League Cup Tues 10th Jan 7-45.

Beck looks pretty good going forwards, but he’s not winning a header all night. Constantly jumps back first and it spins off behind him down the wing. Kacha is no number 10 either. Seems unfair to compare him to Lee, who weaves it together effortlessly, but in not having that, he doesn’t seem to pos...

Beautiful, beautiful goal. One of the best this season. Stunner.

Would love Johnston to continue with that overload to free Iredale. Shouldn’t have been offside then, looking across the line, but engendered a good opportunity and looked much more incisive. Another nice move down the left leads to a corner.

Dempsey, Bradley, Iredale. Hit the fecking space.

He is better than Clayton Donaldson, I’ll give you that. Low bar! That was always Donaldson's problem, bar was too low, and goal too not wide enough, and nowhere near the corner flag. We really should've stopped doing those pre-match shooting drills near the corner when he was playing. So good. 👏

Dropped nicely for Santos then. I thought that was it. The Moment. But then I thought Kachunga wasn’t a goal threat. And look at him now.

We’re looking poor now. Constantly giving it away. Dapo and Sheehan taking too long to release. Everything seems to bounce off Charles (who is now being subbed). John looks like he doesn’t know when to stay or go. Need to cool it.

No matter. Goal machine been subbed on. Christ.

Two lovely goals. Dapo instrumental in the second, scoring the first. Sheehan has looked poor in possession. And there is the Dixon error for 2-1.

Re: The Big Shiny World Cup thread

Ferocious second half. Wales played out their skin. States look to have something of the cynical about them: few feigned injuries (by appearances), lots of wailing. I do hope England are smart to it. Their wingers/wing backs looked dangerous first half, too. Loads of pace.

Re: Macs on for Fleetwood. V the Cod army away Nov 19th 22. 3.0'clock.

Sads and Sheehan coming on after a pretty relentless 30 mins of attacking was the difference. Found space, found end product, against a knackered back line. It was a really entertaining game and felt like a proper derby. Can’t say I saw all the off-the-ball incidents, but the last one on Thomo was n...

Couple of theirs should’ve been off today. That one was clear as day. Petulant kick up Thomo’s calves with no hope of getting the ball. That 4th official has been a disgrace.

Charles. My god. Giving it away over and over again. No confidence to hit it. A half-chance falls his way, a difficult one, admittedly, and again misses the target. Bloody strikers. Was so sure they’d kick on this season.

I do miss MJ. Just seems to add a bit of vigour and occupies more space/players to free up the wings. CMs aren’t, currently, adding anything in the final third anyway. Also lacking a bit of height in general. Really hope that trade-off works and adds to the pace of the play. It’s looked sloppy, tire...

Eesh, the team seems to lack goals. Guess he’s hoping Lee-an’-Sheehan can pick those crucial final passes we’ve been missing. Bradley’s due a game, too.

COYW. Was a mascot against Oxford when I was 7. Won 2-1 that day. Would more than tek that again.

Evatt in the BN noted that the ball was in play for only 49 minutes on Tuesday. Goal kicks took an average of 35 seconds. I remember that one on 3 minutes. Jesus. There were a couple of PMs elected and disgraced before he put it on the grass.
