At least, for my money, Abimbola has played his way into the 11. Might even be a way for Randall to come back in with someone like him, who gives a shit, in front. Collins and Macca were diabolical.

McAtee needs coaching to play a specific role. If it’s up top, he needs to learn to stay disciplined positionally and stay onside, to attack the near/back post, and hold it up; if it’s just behind, he needs to learn to make space for others, to pass with pace and accuracy, to be decisive at the edge...

Re: Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.

I get he's not the striker you'd want, but the question was around "wasting money." 11 goals/3 assists at a reputed 750k compares decently with Nombe at Rotherham who allegedly cost £1m and has similar stats. You fancied Clarke-Harris who was £1.5m who did 9 in 34 last season and 6 in 18 this. Sure...

What can be said. An extraordinary feck-up and yet an almost perfect (in the same way that an almost perfect rocket launch is almost perfect) performance. The finishing notwithstanding, there were so many flaccid half-chances down the sides and through the middle. The bluest of blue balls.

Collins seems to lose all composure against these. He’s due a performance.

Re: No fools in April. Away to the Pies, Tuesday April Ist 7-45.

Shocking, that. So wasteful on the ball and everyone seems so far away from one another. So often no passes on into CM—that’s their job, right? Collins and Tutu therefore isolated. Show for them, release them, they’re the danger men ffs. Also: Carragher stealing 10–20 yards per throw. Couple of chan...

Re: A tall order. Away to Blackpool , Saturday Mar 29th 3-0' clock.

Without wanting to appear too negative, I’m also struggling a bit with Schön. Busy and energetic, but seems to lack quality. Especially in the attacking third. Another player I like, but is running out of credit with Schumacher I imagine. Been in and out of the side under the new manager, but when ...

Re: A tall order. Away to Blackpool , Saturday Mar 29th 3-0' clock.

We’re odd at the moment: not playing badly—indeed I thought we were good up to the final third—but we are so easy to score against. That rugged back line under Darby has disappeared, and with it, the fast out-balls to Tutu, McAtee, and Collins, that have essentially engendered all of our recent goal...

Re: A tall order. Away to Blackpool , Saturday Mar 29th 3-0' clock.

Formation seems really fluid under Schuey. Looks to me like a megazord 5-2-3 which metamorphoses into a 3-4-3 and 3-4-1-2/3-4-2-1 depending on whether and from where we are attacking.

Re: A Roving, A Roving. Away to Bristol, Tues Mar 11th 19-45

Sounds like Collins in a mini slump at the wrong time (great goal vs. Brim notwithstanding). He does have ‘em. Missed a number of great opportunities (all blazed over) and being asked to hold up play far too much, which isn’t his strength and not necessarily his fault. From what I saw, lots of clums...
