Re: "Leeds kindly light....V Leeds at home 3-0'clock Sat 15-12-2018

Madine was very good in his last 5 months with the club. Magennis i think has marginally more pace and wins just as much in the air. However, unlike in Madines golden spell, Josh doesnt hold it up as well. He also suffers because he doesnt have the nippy options of Alf, Robinson or Vela (often) to ...

Re: "Leeds kindly light....V Leeds at home 3-0'clock Sat 15-12-2018

According to WhoScored.com, we average 2.6 efforts on target per game, the division's second-lowest: Ipswich are worse. So far, so obvious, but the opposite doesn't apply: the team who've averaged the most efforts on target is Brentford (5.5), who are 19th in the only table that matters. Then it's ...

Re: A welcome on the hillside......V Swansea at home, Sat 10-11-18 , 3-o'clock.

So because we've had some good times in the recent past, we now have to repay the universe by paying £30 a fortnight to watch miserable, boring football for the next decade? That's not showing moral fibre, that's masochism. We're not always going to win, or play well, but as a competitive football c...

Let's not lose sight of the fact he has done a fantastic job... But it's clearly as well as he can do. We are 100% going down with him in charge, but some freshness may just give us the bounce we need. It probably won't.. but it COULD Trouble is usually it either changes nothing or things get worse...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

Just under three years ago, swan-diving under a clearly dispirited Lennon, the consensus was that change couldn't make us any worse. And then it did. Can't agree with you here DSB. At the end of Freedmans reign we were heading towards relegation at a pace. Lennon, however briefly, gave the side fre...

Re: Villainous Intent. V Aston Villa away Friday 02-11-18 7-45.

OK, so you’ve just sacked Parky! Now give the name of just one available manager who you think would realistically come to Bolton AND do a better job with the limited resources available? I mean, if I could predict which managers are going to be successful in different situations, I'd be a milliona...

Re: Hail the conquering heroes come.......Bolton V Hull, 3-0'clock Sat 27th Oct.

Re bringing a new manager in: are we not overestimating how much of a draw we now are? Personally, I think that our problems are bigger than the manager but if we do make a change the ones with anything about them would surely wait for a better opportunity if we came calling? There's that Groucho M...

Re: Out of the Forest and up to Le Moors.. Notts Forest Home, Wed, 24th Oct 8-0 .

Horrendous. I honestly think that is the worst we've played not just this season but for a long while. Sure we've had batterings and been inept but Forest are no world beaters yet we made them look unplayable. They've spent money and have decent players yes...but we started the game, not just badly...

Re: Out of the Forest and up to Le Moors.. Notts Forest Home, Wed, 24th Oct 8-0 .

Who the feck in their right mind would keep paying to watch this? Home fans at the UniBol are seeing an average of 2.5 shots on target per game and a league-low 0.7 goals. We've scored 11 goals all season. We've scored two goals in a game three times, but only once since mid-August. We've never scor...

Re: What gives? The Invincibles (old) v The Invincibles (away). Preston (a) 1/9/18 3pm

There is a huge difference between Ameobi and Wildschut. Ameobi holds the ball. He is an outlet. What he does in the final 3rd is definitely hit and miss. But right now Wildschut is mainly a liability all over the park. I think he’s low on confidence. And his pace is an asset. But you cannot carry ...

Re: What gives? The Invincibles (old) v The Invincibles (away). Preston (a) 1/9/18 3pm

Wildschut is a flaky winger who does flaky winger things. Against Reading and today he made runs no-one else in the squad could make. One he stuck away for three points which could keep us up, the other he fell over his feet. He also gave a goal away with a shocking pass mind, which isn't great. Ame...

Re: What gives? The Invincibles (old) v The Invincibles (away). Preston (a) 1/9/18 3pm

Would've said even at 2-0 that we were nowhere near as shit as last week, and actually the best I've seen us all season.

We still look very easy to get at through the middle, but there are some good footballers in that team - O'Neill and the Everton lad especially.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Clough isn't good enough. He like some other players burst onto the scene and looked superb. But he's one of those that will never fulfill the initial promise. If he can play the number 10 role, then ALF certainly can. Clough is a confidence player. If he feels up for it and supported he looks like...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )

By Ken's account, he's had the money for at least a week, but yet no-one has been paid.

So he's either lying, and the players were right not to believe him in the first instance. Or he does have it, but is now refusing to pay. Both of those make him look like a knob.

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

It feels the conversation is premature until after next weekend, but if we could get Mick McCarthy to take the job, then I would certainly offer to help out with transportation logistics to make it happen regardless. Otherwise it is a difficult situation, particularly in L1. I would be against appo...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

Charsley didn't neccesarily look the answer against Brentford, but it was hardly a Djibril Diawara debut either. Never been seen since. Similarly, Walker didn't appear to be a massive difference maker, but he's only played five games (and two of those were very late cameos). Those two, Clough, Obasi...
