Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Fun fact update: we’re now 13 opening partnerships into this series and the highest remains 22. Not a good time to be an opener. Make that 14. Opening batting fun fact alert: In this series Rory Burns has scored more runs than the other openers combined. He is getting his runs at an average of 45, ...

Re: The Politics Thread

It’ll be interesting when an election does eventually come. Doubtless it will be billed as a Brexit election where all other issues are sidelined in the majority of voters eyes. My take on it puts Farage as the key man (my reckoning only, feel free to pick holes in the argument). If the Brexit Party...

Re: The Politics Thread

And now JRM uses a speech in parliament to compare neurologist Dr David Nicholl to the disgraced struck off liar Andrew Wakefield. The guy should be sacked for that, but these sorts of comments are quickly becoming normalised. I know they are. Amongst others, you should stop making them. Not sure w...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'll tell you summat else that disappointed me yesterday, other than us getting tonked, the boo-ing of Smith when he reached 200 and when he was out. Show some grace, you pricks. It was only a minority, I'm sure, but enough to be heard. Boo him when he comes out, if you must, but do try to move on ...

They're going to beat us by an innings. By an innings, I tellz ya.
Sadly I don’t think that’s a particularly bold prediction. Sounds like we’re a bit demoralised today and that last session was awful. Best hope now is a rain assisted draw.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Smiths just a machine isn’t he. Relentlessly rolling on and churning out the runs. This is only his 4th innings of the series and he’s got about 520 runs!

Here we go. 140, he'll be out soon.
Looks like he’s used his time away to work on his weakness!

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

They usually check no balls I think. I guess the tortuous reasoning is that you shouldn't be out from an unfair delivery (but it's fine for you to be wrongly out from a fair delivery). Correct. Every dismissal is routinely checked for a no ball as the batsman is leaving the field. It came in about ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

They need to stop looking for this magical "plan" to get Smith out as if, if they are creative enough, there is a key to getting him out for 10. He's too good. You're going to go for runs. Need to keep tempting him outside off with the odd sharp bouncer to stop him wandering across, and take any ch...

Re: The Politics Thread

The whole Brexit thing is making Parliament and the bodies that run Britain look like a right bunch of buffoons. We might be world leaders at changing guards and dressing up in pantomime frocks and wigs and stuff, but in actual politics and law enforcement we resemble a country as focused and dange...

So in essence we've signed - Beevers, Mark Little and Henrik Pedersen?
Isn’t he more a Bernard Mendy type?

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

That was quite honestly one of the worst captaincy decisions I've ever witnessed. I'm just bemused. Assume you’re talking about Vilas bowling Livingstone in the 19th who’d been twatted to all parts before then, rather than Mahmood who’s been one of the standout bowlers this year? Have to think that...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I finally got my wish to see Roy go in a four. Don't let me down now. :D But they’ve also bumped your man Curran further down the pecking order! I'm just glad to see that Curran's getting a game. He's not - that's the point. He’s on as a sub fielder at the moment! Maybe that’s what bruce means?
