Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

In other transfer news apparently AC Milan are about to pay Wigan £10m for old Antoneeeeeee Robinson.

Make of that what you will!

Re: Tonight's Football

I think the reason lower league clubs are kicking off is the idiotic rules for the Johnstone's Paint where we get fined for making more than X changes (for the integrity of the competition) yet in the FA cup, which are huge sometimes existential games for these clubs the big sides can f*ck them off ...

Absolute sickener for poor Buckley. Got to feel for the lad. (and the club)
Just got in, had no idea of the score (forgot we were playing which says a lot) and no idea what this is about, but I bet I can guess? Christ.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Zouma, Weir, Hobbs spring to mind. Poss O'Grady too. Plenty of those signings were any body will do I think so wouldn't rule it out. Don't think he'd played for Oldham so could be got rid of.

Wouldn't necessarily think Lowe or Murphy were totally safe either (and poss easier to move on).

Re: FV Recruitment Model

It's tough though because under normal circumstances you could argue it would (or at the very least would've brought in a lot more). Holding and Connell in particular. But then you might argue in normal circumstances they wouldn't have got the chance. So who knows. Having 3 of the top 6 and their ac...

Re: FV Recruitment Model

Burnley just feels more old-school sensible financing. Picked up good 'uns from the rags like Michael Keane and Dwight McNeil but muich of the rest is taking a gamble on players too good for the Champo whom the other Prem clubs won't touch; sometimes it works, sometimes (Andre Gray) it doesn't. I w...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Yeah good experience for Crawley, play while Burns is out then go away and work on your game and target Denly/Sibley. Delighted for Pope, been excited for him for a while but injury etc mean it hasn't quite happened for him. Looks the real deal though. Will have natural ups and downs as people start...

Re: FV Recruitment Model

Sure, I think we largely agree. On L2 recruitment I think you're right but, tends to be a lot more churn on contracts down there so lots of people out of contact each year, and also you'd hope there's a moneyball hidden value element that means it isn't always get the top scorer in the league. Re: FV Recruitment Model

Long term sure but wouldn't be a priority now. Limited numbers of folk who'd uproot and move country for League 2 wages. Not zero, but I don't think it's an efficient use of resources atm. Better off looking at non-league, lower league and any of the Prem teams' (particularly United, City and Liverp...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

To my expert eye out looks v much like it all turns on if we can knock them over and enforce the follow on. Tough act to get them out, bat again, be comfortable we can't lose then get them out again, particularly on that pitch. I know it isn't trendy anymore but they've only bowled 2 (?) sessions a...

https://twitter.com/djblu2003/status/1218562072419749890 Make of that what you will. *slightly* harsh on Matthews in that it bounces just in front of him so it's kinda hard to read. But yes, it looks bad. Mind you, I did say this week that Matthews is erratic. I dare say he'll pull off a worldie in...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Heard a spectacular rumour today, that the reason Nadine was released is that he was going around Cardiff paying people to let him beat them up

Hats off to whoever came up with that, excellent gossip mongering.

Part of the reason I'd be binning off Zouma. Can't be going on with 3 untested, needs improvement, centre-halves.

Keep - Crawford, Darcy, Dodoo, Emmanuel

Ditch - O'Grady, Hobbs, Weir, Zouma.
