Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....

Never even looked like scoring. Preston haven't got out of 2nd gear. No tactic other than to hoof the ball as far up the pitch as possible, and hope that religiously holding the defensive shape will be enough to keep out the opposition.

Going down without so much as a whimper.

Matthews;
Lowe, Wheater, Wilson, Grounds;
Connelly, Connell, O'Neil;
Ameobi, Magennis, Noone.

Alnwick, Vela, Donaldson, Buckley, Olkowski, Dyer and Pritchard make the bench. Still no Connor Hall.

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

Why is it that so many people seem to think that playing 4-4-2 is this magical cure to our on-field ills? Which two strikers are you playing? Which two do you honestly believe compliment each other well enough to score the necessary goals? And with only two centre midfielders, what sort of hallucino...

Hey, but Oztumer was on the pitch. Surely the Turkish Messi couldn't have been involved in something that bad??

Playing well, maintaining the shape, and made a few chances. One excellent save from Alnwick aside, Stoke haven't created any clear cut chances. They've had the majority of possession but we're certainly not being "battered".

20 scored, 44 missed in today's shooting warm up.

Looks like Lowe at right back...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

He's now odds on.....excellent Yes it will be great to lose a good manager and see things completely fall apart. Just spiffing. Especially as we've not paid him or the playing staff what we owe them. It'll be a great Christmas present. Anyhow if Parky goes and when it becomes a total disaster I'll ...

Re: Hail the conquering heroes come.......Bolton V Hull, 3-0'clock Sat 27th Oct.

For the first time in years, I missed today's game. Been laid low with a tummy bug that requires me to stay no more than 5 yards from a bathroom at any one time.

From the sound of things, I had a better time today than those at the match...

Re: Out of the Forest and up to Le Moors.. Notts Forest Home, Wed, 24th Oct 8-0 .

I don’t even know if that’s the worst performance of the season...worse since sheff u maybe... Williams, Everton loan, doesn’t give a feck. Just disappears if it looks tough. Probably playing because it costs us more to not play him. Two full backs were gash. But not Grounds gash. Wheater was decen...

Re: Love thy Neighbour...Bolton V Blackburn Sat 6th Oct.17-30

If the following is true from Marc Iles then I am lost for words "Few have asked about #bwfc playing two up front. I put the question to Phil Parkinson, and he said: "We did. Erhun Oztumer is a striker."" Come on Parky wouldn't have said that, we are lucky to have him - he's the best manager we've ...

Re: A stroll in the countryside? - Stoke City (A) 02/10/18

Shockingly poor performance from 1 to 11 tonight. Yet again totally unable to play with any degree of success against teams that press constantly. Our passing has been awful - either played like the ball's made of lead or like the players have got springs attached to their boots with nothing in betw...

Re: A stroll in the countryside? - Stoke City (A) 02/10/18

Seemingly no desire to play it short. Every time we get it we look for the punt to Magennis, and he's winning the ball but has no support at all. Grounds is like a pig on a spit with Ince running at him. Major changes needed at half time.

I don't think Joe Williams has managed a successful pass this half.
Has he touched the ball?

Re: A stroll in the countryside? - Stoke City (A) 02/10/18

Stoke pressing very high. We can't seem to string two passes together. Defence looks increasingly shaky, and Oztumer is being muscled off it far too easily.
