Nice one!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 10:46 pmRan my fastest (or least slow) 5K sine Dec 2018 this morning, which was nice.
Not looking forward to tonight's run out on the parkrun course. It's gonna hurt!

Re: The athletics/running thread
I staggered out for a slow 3 miler yesterday with a friend. I hate running in this weather! Don’t understand why certain people won’t run in the rain. :conf: I think I prefer it. Too hot down south for anymore exercise this week! ☀️ Don’t you bloody start! :Jedi: I mentioned no names. If you’ve got...

No Virologist, me, but I'm far from convinced that we've reached stage three. Also, I remain fecking appalled by the laissez faire attitude being exhibited by so many in relation to social distancing. By way of 'new normal', by the way, I've just had my first ever GP appointment to be held over Sky...

I guess if you have friends like BR does then its ok. But no way would I fancy staying in any hotel anywhere now. A cottage sounds a good bet to me. Oh, absolutely. If this option wasn't / proves not to be available, coupled with the fact that this year's Green Man has been cancelled, then it's Kes...

Take every opportunity I can to hate the red bastards of course, but feck me the lad Rashford is a good kid, isn't he? Aye. It's bloody annoying! I see there’s been a u turn on it which is great. Last summer our church did some regular hot meals in the church building for some kids earmarked by tea...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Just as I was getting my running mojo back, I have been laid low by an insect bite of all things. The ‘wound’ has become infected and I now appear to have a cankle and club foot! Hopefully, the antibiotics prescribed start to kick in and I can get back to it next week. A Pound to a pinch of shit sa...

Re: General Chit Chat
The Guide dogs association have labradors up for adoption who have been house trained but just failed to meet the very high standards to be a sight dog. I'm sure they'll have some young dogs that would get along great with Paddy. Might be worth rehoming your cat though, just to be on the safe side ...

Re: Tonight's Football
Arsenal played a friendly against Charlton today. They put the highlights up on social media. Its so weird watching them play in an empty stadium - ignoring the tired old jokes you all make about the Emirates noise levels  the quietness and the empty seats was really weird. I wonder how long ...

Met plenty off here, referred to by BP's daughter as his 'football boyfriend'. Damn straight, you were! We’ll always have Liverpool and our time in that shrine of a club! Re: The athletics/running thread
Managed to get 60K in for May, was aiming for 75 until slipping on last Monday's run and pulling a muscle in my back. Been in fecking agony all week with it but have woke up this morning and it feels a thousand times better. Will try to start June with something short, flat and gentle tomorrow. I’m...

Re: The athletics/running thread
The revival of this thread might just inspire me to get my arse in gear. A combination of injuries and way too much food/drink during lockdown has left me badly out of shape. Can’t be arsed running and when I do manage it, sack it off because i’m not enjoying it. I blame Mrs BP for taking to cookin...

Re: Tonight's Football
Premier league has a come back date and we will be able to watch Arsenal get spanked by Man City on the 17th June as they are all going to be on the box. Son number 1 is so excited about watching football again he says he doesn’t care that we will lose... I’m not quite at that stage myself ...
