Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We probably do need an Ennis type, but I’m just wary of paying another big fee (and big wages) for a peak age player unproven above League One.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I have to say I wouldn’t be overly enamoured with the idea of either Ennis or Barkhuizen.

We need wide players, but preferably not aging ones, and Ennis looks like another of the type of signing that has got us into trouble these past few years.

For what it's worth, the Trotter Chatter podcasters are linking us with Ennis and Barkhuizen.
Are they renowned for being ‘itk’, or are they likely just rehashing old links?

I'd expect 4-5 more. Not necessarily next week, like.
If we are indeed going to run with a squad of 22-23, then we’re going to have to get rid of a load to add 4 or 5 more.
Great. There's a bus load we wouldn't miss.
Woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning, did you Worthy? :D

Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

There's no way we shouldn't be top four. There were problems with the group. But also a year ago they were one game from the champo. It's not rip it up. I like SS profile. But there's no way of badging this as a several year job. I'm not convinced so far, but it's June. But no excuse at all for not...

Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

I'll be totally honest I'm very happy with SS's signings to date, however as it stands IMO we are nowhere near good enough to challenge for a top 2 spot. Apart from Dalby we have absolutely nothing upfront or any back up to Dalby if he gets injured (which as we know as a club, we do get lots of qui...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Yeah he's a diddyman. 6NhKMGwWoaw Just had a watch of this. Looks like a decent player, and someone who would improve our team. Wouldn't want to be spending a million on him, mind, and I doubt Championship clubs will be knocking Salford's door down due to his size and lack of blistering speed.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I'm not saying we shouldn't get rid of McAtee if we can get a decent fee, but the squad would be desparately short of goals with both him and Collins gone, and Vic out for a while.

History tells us that it's usually difficult and expensive to find goalscorers, and we'd need to find a couple.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Re McAtee: the rumour several weeks ago doing the rounds, was that he'd been told to find another club, only to demand his contract be paid up. One way or another, if true, we need to get shut or he could potentially stink the whole place out. Lolos has been a dead man walking since Schuey came in....

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

Toal I feel has mitigations for last season. He has no rear over the summer carried an injury in and never properly got fully fit. See how he goes this time. His record prior seemed ok and he’s not old. Dempsey I think has just hit that point in his career where injuries start catching up to you. O...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I was at Royal Ascot yesterday so completely missed the Collins news. Whilst I did like him as a player, I'm not upset about him leaving, assuming we're going to bring in someone better. However, if we accepted a fee of sub £1m for him I would be slightly annoyed. Maybe McDons were the only ones in ...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25

Huddersfield are supposedly trying to sign Ethan Galbraith from Orient. They’re really throwing the lot at promotion this season, and might be hard to stop if Grant can manage.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

There is something a bit brutal about a manager saying he’s not seen a player as he was on loan but that he should ‘explore options to leave’ in a public interview. I don’t of course disagree with the outcome and indeed the conversation needs having - I just don’t know if that needs to be made publ...

Great news for Hutchinson hopefully there is a route now for him to challenge for a first team space.
Interesting move from the club. Hard to see him getting any game time here unless Southwood is sold, so I guess the plan is for him to be loaned out again.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

From Marc Iles comment piece on Collins’ transfer…..errr…..ouch! …which ends with another warning that previous regulars will disappear from the XI, either sidelined or banished. Related: It has been pointed out that, assuming Collins leaves, only 4 of the Wembley XI remain. Yeah, the new lads real...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We're seemingly losing our player of the season to a club in a lower league. Normally i'd be shocked or disenfranchised at that news, but given Collins' efforts last season, i'm not surprised. I think we'd be right to sell him. Good finisher, but attitude wise the forwards were massively behind a t...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Rumour I was told over the weekend (and it was just a rumour) is that the fee is £1.4M and he's been offered wages of £10k-£12k a week. I stress that this was only a rumour, the person who I was talking to had seen something at the MK end. Apparently MK Dons have loads of money as they sold a coupl...
