Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Is Warren overage? If so, he's surely being earmarked for an immediate loan, because I can't see him taking up a squad space.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

From looking at the Lincoln forum, this link seems to have originated from him appearing on a podcast where he says he’d like to be involved with them in some capacity again in the future, but crucially, “not now”.

Lincoln are not in the mix for Toffolo this summer, come on.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

If Toffolo is available in L1 we should be right at the front of that queue! I imagine we would be if affordable. Which is suspect would be the blocker. Spotrac and Capology have him as being on £35k pw last season. At a stretch we could probably offer him a fifth of that, which seems an extremely ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Rubbish? Dreadful? Rather emotive those Insane, and unfair on those two imo. FWIW - I'm ok with this. Should the worst happen we can always get an emergency loan in as cover, cant we? I don’t think they were very good. If the argument is we must sign an experienced keeper to act as cover then you a...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I don’t disagree with you at all, mate. I am a massive proponent of developing youngsters, and am very pleased that our new leadership seem to want to walk down that path. The only slightly surprising aspect is that Hutch is 22, and barring that one game for Crawley last season, hasn’t played above ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Iles reporting Southwood “looks set to leave” and theorising that he may not be replaced. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/25264283.bolton-wanderers-luke-southwood-way-bristol-rovers/ Yes, I suspected that one might have legs. I had a quick browse of the Gas forum yesterday, and the story seem...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

For £1m we'd be daft not to take it. I'm not sure having 2 keepers with a season between them is a particularly good idea. TSL by all accounts had a great season last, but there are no guarantees he follows that up here. We've seen with other players that have done great in one place and been bobbi...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Some noise over on Insano’s favourite platform that Southwood is going to Bristol Rovers.

Would we start the season with TSL and Hutchinson as our only keepers? Seems doubtful.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Describing Schon as a winger seems very generous to me. I mean he was played there same way Collins was played as a number 9 but he was absolutely useless in that role. No real pace. Poor delivery. Can’t finish for toffee. Apart from that he has two legs so I guess he can stand that side of the pit...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We should be expecting to hear about outgoings soon, right? … right? The players I think might leave this summer, in descending order of confidence: Lolos - Schumacher clearly doesn't rate him, but he hasn't been horrific since he's been with us, is fairly young, and isn't a walking injury. At the ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We don’t have to spend big to get cover, but Nathan Lowe would require spending big, and wouldn’t come as cover.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

The Vic who won't be fully fit till December and may not even be registered? Forgive me if I sadly fold away the bunting.... It's a difficult one. I completely agree - I'd be surprised if we splurge big on another striker. But IMO we need someone (new) who can play up top. It may be a different typ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We’ve given Dalby a four year deal, so he must be viewed as the starting 9. Lowe tracks as a similar profile of player to Sam, and of course would also expect to be a starter, so it doesn’t look like a fit. Assuming we want to run with two senior players per position, we’ve got Dalby as first choice...

Given we’ve committed big to Dalby, I wouldn’t have thought Lowe would be on our radar.

They’re also potentially going to be taken over by a consortium led by Welsh icon Gareth Bale, which would of course mean they’d be simultaneously ridding themselves of troublesome incumbent Vincent Tan.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

We probably do need an Ennis type, but I’m just wary of paying another big fee (and big wages) for a peak age player unproven above League One.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I have to say I wouldn’t be overly enamoured with the idea of either Ennis or Barkhuizen.

We need wide players, but preferably not aging ones, and Ennis looks like another of the type of signing that has got us into trouble these past few years.
