Ta, CAPSLOCK. I hadn't realised ('cos I'd never thought about it) that Humbrol and Airfix were one and the same. It makes sense I guess. I've still got a few cans of paint somewhere - no doubt if I dig them out they'll rattle if shaken. It will be interesting to see who owns the moulds and their des...

That's a darn shame, ratbert; thanks for the notification. I hope that the administrators can find a way to trade the company out of its problems as it would be a shame to see what to me is an icon of the genre disappear forever. Perhaps some enterprising person will bid for the moulds if they have ...

I don't think I'd like to be inside your head tomorrow morning, old chap.

Hello, again, Monty.

Like others here my thanks go to you for taking the time and trouble to share your trip. It's been a most interesting ride. I'm pleased to see that you made it home without too many problems and in one piece. I think you deserve a holiday after all that work.

Couldn't agree more, your royalness. Poor Noddy and Big Ears. Banned - not for the terms Noddy and Big Ears but because they are depicted as sleeping in the same bed. I note though that PC Plod was left alone. 'Tis sheer madness. I can, to an extent, understand concerns about some movie content and ...

Blasted paperwork, that's what!

Up 'til 01:00; still it's done and dusted. Fortunately I found a bottle of single malt that had been hiding on a kitchen shelf and which was happy to keep me company.

I finally understood some of the difficulties of the Gallipoli campaign. Yes, Monty, it's hard to communicate properly with a mouth full of broken teeth. I hope you managed to secrete yours in a handy pocket when no one was looking. Incidentally, 'biscuits' not 'cookies' - just a bit more education...

S'all right, Monty. How can we disbelieve someone who puts the two of us (both furriners) into starring rôles in his novel? No offence taken, SOTWA. As a matter of interest and nothing to do with welcoming eric - you'll get used to hi-jacked threads, eric - my late father-in-law was in the RA...

G'day, eric snookes. You'll find the odd bod banging around at these hours - mainly from overseas as you U.K. lot (assuming that's where you are) do tend to value your beauty sleep. Get stuck in, lad, else we'll be unable to verify the veracity of your statement in the post above. As a matter of int...

Not on my browser it's not SAMHATER. However, if one of the articles is opened the system picks up the old header and shows the previous link (i.e. without the hyphen).

The address in the graphic though is still unamended.

I trust that means the temperature has dropped, Monty. I was listening to a couple of amateur radio operators from the Ontario region yesterday (Canadian time, Tuesday) who indicated it was stiflingly hot and humid. They were on an island - I believe it's the largest fresh water island in the world,...

Leave the youngsters alone, TANGO. They haven't lived. I remember back in the 'fifties there were so much snow on't links I had to sacrifice me putter just so's I could carry a shovel in me bag. Worked out well 'n all. Seven foot of snow there was; 'ad ter dig a tunnel from tee ter green. Still made...

I hope that you did not read me incorrectly, Crayons. I consider myself to be a hacker. By the same token though, I do feel that the pleasure that comes from fading or drawing a shot to where it's supposed to go surmounts any lack of distance provided by 'better' equipment. I have no argument with t...

I've only ever had a 3-Wood and 2, 5 & 7 irons plus Wedge and putter. The wedge I inherited after finding it on the edge of a green. I stuck up a notice at the office but no one claimed it. It's amazing how inventive one can become regarding the use of limited equipment. All of it is second-hand and...
