Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
Also, above and beyond any systems or otherwise we absolutely have to stop getting done over and over by the same cut back set piece! Yeah but that should be easy to sort. The other two goals we conceded in the last two games where we showed an unbelievable amount of softness and lack of defensive ...

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
See my fear with Oxford is we would assume we would coast the home leg, and that usually spells trouble. Fundamentally we are finishing third or fourth and really should beat anyone we play. Blackpool wouldn’t want to play, given our record of bottling local derbies. Yeah Oxford I had the same thou...

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
So we can’t get Peterborough over two legs in the play offs. Which is good as they trouble me. Obviously that potentially means they will be the opponents in the final but cross that bridge if we get there. So it’s one of Barnsley, Lincoln, Oxford and Blackpool. Blackpool an outside shot. Who would ...

Knew he'd be back when the shit hit the fan  I did consider waiting till we won the play offs and then you know it would be glorious. I genuinely hope we do. I just find what we’ve built since coming up to league one is that horrible and slightly arrogant ‘we play the right way’ type of club a...

On my phone at the ground didn’t realise I was signed in on there - wanted to wait to post till I had calmed down from the frustration of the events last night.

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
Since January we’ve won something like 9 in 22. Currently we are on 2 wins out of the last 6. This is a long old spell. It’s not like a bad run you can brush away. It’s not getting any better either. And the warning signs were there long long before this run too. We all looked at the fixture list an...

I feel sorry for Evatt. He’s clearly got to the point where he doesn’t know how to take us forward or what we are missing. You could tell in the comments post derby but there are other games too. It is as I’ve said before that intangible set of qualities that get you over the line in big games that ...

Ruh-roh.
Thats problematic. A sizeable increase in losses against a 40% increase in revenue.
Been here before….alarm bells and all that.

Re: The Politics Thread
I just wrote out a longish reply, then realised the futility of bothering. We'll never live in a world where enough is enough. Greed is an incurable disease. "What doth it profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffers the loss of his soul?" Jesus asked. Well, I guess we'll know one day unles...

Re: The Politics Thread
Privatisation. What a failure it's generally been. Like most of the policies prevalent in the 1980's. Sell "the people" something they owned in the first place, on the basis that private business would just throw money at it, because they're philanthropic. Watch as the corporates take divvies each ...

I don’t think there is any conspiracy. It’s just a manager who knows he’s under a lot of pressure to deliver and key players who aren’t yet fit. Maybe have had setbacks in their recovery. I really have believed for a long time that our sports science and rehab etc leaves an awful lot to be desired....

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm
Another big pressure game in the run in. We’ve got to win one of these surely? Even statistical odds would say even absolute trash sides would win some of these. Do you recall us beating Oxford 5-0? Oxford are rubbish and it was in front of a small home crowd and a tiny away following. We all know ...

This is current era Bolton all over. Morning report ‘signs good for Charles and Baxter’. Few hours later ‘doom’.
It happens all the time. We are told player is coming back then suddenly they aren’t.

I don’t know. You do seem like you revel more in defeats than wins. I get it though, you mentally prepare yourself for failure so you’re not too disappointed when it happens. It’s natural mate. I’ve only just started forcing myself to be positive. Yeah well. Exactly. I don’t think it’s natural thou...

I saw no reason as to why we can't overturn a 4pt deficit on Derby to be honest. They'll drop more points than we will in the run-in. There. I said it Still sayin it So long as it’s 5 more…. You genuinely don’t want us to do it do you Eh? 5 more than us and we would do it. Do you really genuinely t...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Great result if and only if we can take advantage. Given recent results, I have serious doubts. Obviously hoping I will be proven spectacularly wrong this time next week. It’s certainly a huge boost. We’ve hit the fabled international break rest we’ve been talking about for so long and had the mass...
