Re: You're not from New York City - Bolton v Rotherham (H) - 18-Sep-21

Maybe whilst Evatt's up there, he could have a peek at the defence too. We're still the second highest scorers in the division at this point and maybe more goals would be good, but when you're leaking 2 per game, you're going to struggle more often than not to bag three points. Worthy I agree 100%,...

Re: You're not from New York City - Bolton v Rotherham (H) - 18-Sep-21

Doyle is a decent player but alone up front like that he's a nuisance rather than a real threat. I think Evatt's strop about people clamouring for another striker was him frustratedly trying to convince himself. I think all our limitations have been laid bare today. Unfortunately I think we're goin...

Re Dapo: I think that all the adulation he received this week affected him as much as the Rotherham defenders.

Re: You're not from New York City - Bolton v Rotherham (H) - 18-Sep-21

I don't disagree with anything DSB or BWFCI says, but I'm really happy with being top half & will be at the end of the season. But being really honest I'd say that to improve to a level to be challenging in league 1 next season we do need better than Jones, Gordon (John is better), Isgrove & Doyle, ...

Re: You're not from New York City - Bolton v Rotherham (H) - 18-Sep-21

Forgot to mention our defending for their goals was weak & pathetic, like the 1st half of last season, I appreciate that its a higher league but defensively we are poor & concede so many weak goals as per early doors last season.

BTW I can't see many of the floating fans coming back after that.

Re: You're not from New York City - Bolton v Rotherham (H) - 18-Sep-21

Deserved win for Rotherham IMO, these have a decent chance of going up as they are a quality league 1 side IMO We always disappoint when we have a big lower league 20k+ crowd due to a cheap family day (Grimsby, Chesterfield etc.). Personally I thought that there were a few poor performances today, D...

Re: Bolton Wanderers - All or Nowt

Well worth a watch. The bit with Santos and us changing his life… 🥲 Yes another good watch, that was a little eye opening with Santos and how little he earned at Barnet before joining us - I also thought the shot of all the owners on the pitch was good, so we now know the key people involved i.e. S...

Re: Will made to measure suit us? V Burton at the Unibol 8-0'clock Monday.

Excellent performance, our best 90 minute performance for many a year against one of the better League 1 teams. Passing, movement, energy and tempo was excellent all game, legit goal disallowed & a definite penalty at the end denied. We will however regret not bringing in a decent goal scoring centr...

That last penalty is abysmal. Just sums him up of late, all the confidence in his ability then balloons it. I won't lose any sleep losing on pens in a nothing cup competition & it was a nothing game. Not sure where this whole 'nothing cup competition' comes from . I'd love to win this cup and i'd l...

Re: Vital Lincoln City (A) - 7:45pm, 17 August

Wow what a great win against a very decent Lincoln side, 2nd half was very good with many good performances - Isgrove & Katchunga were excellent, along with Dixon, Jones, Santos & Johnson and great support BTW.

Huge confidence builder this win IMO

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

McClean would be cover for left back too. I highly doubt it’s anything other than newspaper tittle tattle. But would be worse players to sign. Doesn’t scream an Evatt signing though. There is not a chance of that cnut Mclean getting anywhere near BWFC, the board & management would not want anything...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

I'd be v wary. No idea where he's at as a player, but he was excellent. Given the atmosphere around the club atm though I just think it would be unnecessarily divisive. I don't think that's really his fault, most (but not all) of the issues are about the poppy. I sympathise with his position , but ...

Nixon: “Winger James McClean is a target for local rivals Wigan and Bolton. The Stoke star, 32, can move and Latics are keen on a return to the club for him. But Wanderers are also trying to set up a deal.” He's currently training with Stoke's U23s. Played for Wigan before, 2013-15. No thanks....

Re: Plough on: AFC Wimbledon (A), Sat 14 Aug @ 3pm

I would have settled for a point beforehand so not that down, even though drawing from being 3-1 up isn't great. We are giving poor goals away as we did at the start of last season. Our defence looks poor & a bit slow again, Santos isn't fit but he is needed, Gethin Jones very poor IMO today and per...

If Dixon isn't better than a 39 year old 'slow as fcuk, semi retired, overweight' Gilks then why the feck have we bought him ?

Re: Remember you were a womble. MK Dons (H) EFL L1 7.8.21 3pm KO

Not convinced I’d blame Gilks too much for their second. Over the wall into bottom corner. He’s doing well to shift his weight down to that I’d say. Was wall positioned right? Probably a much better strike than it’s given credit for that. Absolute tosh, it was less than 2ft from him, have a look at...

Re: Remember you were a womble. MK Dons (H) EFL L1 7.8.21 3pm KO

Rustiness or not, I think that IE has made a mistake by not bringing in a decent 1st choice keeper & it could hurt us this season, it'll take Gilks at least a month to get fit, if as I said it is just fitness & rustiness ?

He was like a beached whale yesterday.

Yes the new lads all impressed, Sheehan is a classy player. I thought that Williams had a great game & Declan John 2nd half was very good, I hope he's not to badly injured as he was limping badly at the end, looked like his knee.
