Re: England at the Euros
Y'know, maybe we shouldn't bother. We're almost always utter wank at the Euros, because we don't have an Egypt or summat to warm up against and justify o'ervaulting ambition. France 60 did not enter Spain 64 knocked out in preliminary qualifying round by France Italy 68 qualified; knocked out in fi...

Cherry picking some of Europes best players with a virtually open ended chequebook for me does not make you a great manager! Got full-backs though, hasn't he? Must have been like a sailor on shore leave when he realised he didn't have to restrict himself to bone-headed ball-chasing Englishme...

Oh I don't doubt that he's building a good young foundation. In fact I don't doubt it so much that I said it about four posts ago. Instructive comparison with Citeh there, though. Yon mon at the Council House looks like a good manager. I reckon he could regularly take England to the quarter-...

DSB O'Neill didn't agree with the inflated prices over the summer. He did in fact want more players (and full backs he most definitely mentioned) but the ones he wanted were too expensive to prise away and he said he did not want to "waste" the owners money. He is developing something there. Villa ...

yeah, of course that's why Villa have been so good since he arrived - not at all like the previous years of mediocrity at all. As I keep telling my frustrated Villa mate, they'd be alright if they had a highly-respected manager and a billionaire owner. Oh... I can see BWFCi's argument for MON's imp...

He (Martin O'Neill) was the obvious candidate last time around, but perhaps they were scared off the Ratboy tracksuit look? :conf: The FA wanted to cover populist bases by installing Stuart Pearce as MO'N's assistant, with the idea of grooming Psycho to eventually take the top job (y'know, like Bry...

nor has he particularly fixed anything. He has improved Villa, they were bottom half under O Dreary. He worked miracles at Leicester and turned Celtic around. But like I say his most crucial quality is that he is strong enough to resist the media and public baying that goes hand in hand with Englan...

nor has he particularly fixed anything. He has improved Villa, they were bottom half under O Dreary. that's not difficult and he had a fair bit of cash He worked miracles at Leicester and turned Celtic around. so did Jewel at wigan for a season (not repeated it at Villa has he?) and he spent millio...

If we are going to have an England manager with no experience of winning owt, lets at least have one with some charisma. Steve McClaren is probably the most boring man alive. I don't think that he is quite as bad tactically as some people make out, but he has no personality, doesn't show passion an...

team and tactics picked by way of online vote - yeah that'll be a success. My first suggestion would be sacking the manager as there's no point to his role in this structure. Exactly, and who conveys the decisions to the players? And who coaches the tactics into them? What if the coaches disagree w...

http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk/ not noticed any threads on this - anyone around here had a punt? I thought about it, but then decided is was a ridiculously stupid idea! umm, im not sure, i think it would be good if it was just fans of Ebbsfleet who could invest, people who actually know who they a...

McClaren's out if we fail to qualify, and we shouldn't start calling for his head unless this happens. His remit is to get us into the competitions and perform well once there; for me, he has yet to fail at this task. Ask this question again after the tournament (if we qualify). For what it's worth...

Didn't mean my comment to upset you, BWFCi. I just personally feel Dylan's a better Songwriter than singer. Same could be said for Dolly Parton, or Johnny Cash. Absolutely fantastic songwriters, but sometimes their songs are improved by (technically) better singers. I don't think I've heard a Dylan...

Thing is many people try to copy Dylans singing style and fail miserably. The gallagher brothers for instance. They always sound like they are singing through their nose. Mind I do my very best to not listen! I've never heard it said that Liam and Noel are aping the Bob. I always took their singing...

Maybe but you did just say Dylan sounded like a hoover! Which riled me. I apologise. "like a hoover to me " Twas meant more as a joke than a poke. No offence taken or need to apologise, I'm just worried that you're building up ulcers! Nah I just say what I feel. Thing is many peopl...
