I’d have had 5 subs on by now.

Derby have done it. Can only say well done. They’ve squeezed every ounce of juice out of their limited group of players. Have to admire that.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
It’s a good thing, I’d rather go into the play offs with a realistic game where we are tested than walking a 4-0 against a half assed side.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 1:47 pmSheehan clears off our line. I think we have an issue in midfield. I don’t think any of the three midfield players are playing well and I don’t think they have for a few weeks tbh - bar Paris. Thomason off form. Sheehan off form. Dempsey has scored but I’m not convinced he offers enough all round.

Defensively that’s very soft. A theme since January is maybe we just have been too easy to score against at times.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
It’s our formula today. Fairly relaxed in the game and bag early goals. Thats when we do well. I would say Mason Clark worries me in a play off game. But we’ve a ways to go before we’d have to worry about that. Charles has looked a threat and scored which is very good news. Santos looks fitter than ...

Santos and Dempsey in for Taylor and Maghoma.

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions
I think if we had a genuinely natural finisher we’d have gone up but I think that argument is probably true of a good chunk of teams in most leagues. There aren’t many around. I dare say if you gave Arsenal Haaland they’d have won the league already. Where I think our issues lie is one we were argua...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions
Do you find it more or less reductive than second is success, third is failure? Success is promotion. The club have said that multiple times. In football there isn’t a prize for ‘nearly’. Thats not reductive in any sense. We should be getting out of this division - Evatt, the club the players are a...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions
I'm just finding it a bit hard to see where Charles and co missing basic sitters is Evatt's fault. Must be me.. You can't blame Evatt for strikers missing the odd 1 or 2, but when you miss the amount of sitters that we do given the amount of chances we create, and its several of the strikers missin...

I'm just finding it a bit hard to see where Charles and co missing basic sitters is Evatt's fault. Must be me.. I find this a really reductive. Nothing that happens on a field can be directly labelled as ‘managers fault’. But they are accountable for the results and outcomes at the end of the day. ...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
By that thinking any season irrespective of what happens is a success. But every season bolton wanderers are in league one should be considered a failure by anyone who is wanting to see this club get back to where it should. ................. I get some people don’t care. They’d be happy surviving ...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
The problem is the Championship is a financial basket case. It will become imperative to get promoted again because the finances make even less sense. Then it will become about surviving in the Premiership because of the financial disaster of getting relegated. If we're to be financially stable the...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I might have missed it, and apologies if I have, but has anyone come out and said that the whole financial workings of the club are predicated on being promoted in 2024, and if we don't do this then we are all doomed and half our squad need to be sold for half their value just to keep the lights on...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Not being promoted is disastrous. I'd be happy (or very unhappy...) to be proved wrong, but I don't think it is disastrous at all. My prediction would be that not being promoted basically means we start next season in League 1 and try to get promoted then, whilst also trying to progress in the cups...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions
We should for me be second. We aren’t and I do think that’s a failure on Evatts part. Time to make it up though and win the play offs. Must be me. How a failure to come third? If it were carved in stone, all the bookies would be out of business. Disappointing, yes, but the human element, luck and i...

Re: General Chit Chat
Had one of those extremely funny episodes on Tuesday at work, sat on the PC when there was sudden squealing and three young female colleagues legging it in different directions. Hey up I thought, what's going on and trundled over for a gander. Turns out there was a large spider in a box they were m...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
We can make substitutions depending on the goings-on in the other match. We can remove and replace literally half out the outfield And I suspect that’s the way it will be played. Each player is an individual scenario. Charles needs minutes. Maybe santos does too. Collins if derby are winning probab...

Pretty happy with my predictions. Saw Pompey as champions thanks to Mousinho and they did it.
We should for me be second. We aren’t and I do think that’s a failure on Evatts part. Time to make it up though and win the play offs.
