Re: The Politics Thread

The Chris Huhne/Vicky Pryce thing has finally reached its denouement but one thing has been bugging me about it all. Every time the telly shows one of em walking into and out of court there's some chap walking behind with a poster saying something along the lines of "No nukes blah Fukushima blah Hu...

Re: Biggest game of the season - Brighton @ Home

Good side Brighton and our run has to end some time. I wont be unhappy with a draw. 1-1 again.

Re: What's the most pretentious thing you've heard somebody

"Don't worry about that. I'll get the maid to clean it up when the driver brings her back from collecting little Henry from summer camp". Sadly this sort of thing is exceedingly common here. :D A friend of mine has lived in Dubai & Hong Kong over the years. She said she realised her kids were spoil...

Re: Why Do people Leave early ??

Never left an away game early.

Left at Wembley after the 4th went in.

3 games at Burnden, far too painful to recall here, were the only times I left early.

Haven't done it at the Reebok yet.

Re: Why Do people Leave early ??

Dont get it either but I walk home from the match so not a big deal to me. The couple on our row left on 83 minutes

Where were you wanderer10 when it went in? Did you hear it and did you know it was us that scored?

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

Start of the 2nd half Kev won 4 headers on the spin including 1 that produced a real goal scoring opportunity and Ngog was nowhere near any of them. He faded badly after that though, and like I posted before, I think Ngog adn the team play better now when SKD is off the field. Forgot who posted it (...

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

After Tango, I'm probably SKDs biggest fan on here. Up until October, I dont care what anyone says, he was as effective as ever and was one of our best players. That said I was very surprised to see him start last night. His presence does change the way we play. Ricketts, in particular, probably ove...

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

A rather bizarre incident in the North stand lower tonight. Regular retard there who brings his kids with him and then f's and blinds all through the game calling all our players dog 5hit. He was as bad as ever tonight. Eventually, after about 70 minutes 2 stewards (average age 72) walk up to have a...

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

What was the goal like? Sounded on here like we were knocking on the door as it were. We had been but to be fair they'd looked pretty dangerous late on too. The number of free kicks we gave away on the edge of our box today - stone me. Any road as I remember it - ball up to Cravies & Eagles, Eagles...

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

It was a tight game and could have gone either way, but truth was, clear chances were at a premium. I don't get why Kevin Davies started. And I think once again his lack of movement and workrate held us back. He won a few flick ons from long throws but also encouraged too many long balls to nowhere...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Cheers Kinty. Hoping it's not just one of those things but currently resting up and icing it every hour. I might follow your example at the gym and do something I've been meaning to do for ages and get some proper conditioning work in. May's marathon is looking unlikely mow though :(

First proper holiday in about 5 years, so quite excited having booked here: http://maldivescomplete.com/maldivesv/Resort%20Pictures/Constance%20Moofushi%20Island.jpg 10 days of doing very little, other than snorkelling, reading and stuffing my face with good food. I will be spending the rest of the...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Great time Gary - chuffed for ya. Close to a PB that? I had a 20 mile race lined up in Yorkshire next weekend and was worried I hadn't done the miles due to a persistent calf problem. Set off today to do 15-16 miles. Calf was a bit niggly but nothing major. Got to 15.6 miles and was feeling pretty g...

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys

Anyway...the Blackburn match. On form should be a nailed on win and they are there for the taking I was surprised to see how much stick Murphy was getting on that link - has he been no good for em this year then? Rhodes is bound to get at least 1 against us and our run has to end sometime, so I'll g...
