Re: 'He's mad that trusts in the tameness of Wolves'. Wolves

Thought we played as well as we could have given injuries etc (and the fiasco of their first goal) and there was nothing anybody could have done about their equaliser so just couldn't get my head around the booing that came from the North stand upper where I was. Clapping soon followed from others a...

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread

I'll bring my boots tomorrow - you never know. I'm 6ft - 3ins and 14 stone. Sadly I'm 63 which might count against me. You've just described Emile Heskey, so I think you're all set I would have one major problem passing for Emile but, as the PC brigade will probably jump on me, I won't mention what...

I remember seeing Gareth Williams coming out of there on the morning he played his first match for us - not sure of the year - about 1960?

Re: A Win Away? Millwall / Friday 19th

It felt like we played without a striker when Beckford was up front and that didn't turn out too well did it? (Yes I know he scored for Preston at the weekend but even a broken clock's right once a day)

Re: A Win Away? Millwall / Friday 19th

We were better than them, though they weren't up to much. Pratley was the best player on the pitch over 90 minutes by some way. Shittu was their best player. Gudjohnson was very nearly ordinary, he still has the knack of being unhurried but rarely got involved and product wasn't there; we looked a ...

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread

Please don't laugh at this suggestion - given we need a big lump up front who can give their central defenders a bit of a hard time why not use the biggest lump we've got AKA Trotter. Given he's useless in midfield it would at least stop him causing problems there and he couldn't be any less effecti...

Re: Who ate all the pies?

Can I politely suggest the (lively, interesting) poppy debate hives off into General Banter and we keep this thread for the fitba? Kudos to Neil Lennon for making the best of Freedman's lost boy Cravies. Just as Freedman rejuvenated dodgy Coyle signings Ream and Mills. Funny how things go, with pla...

Re: Interview with Paul Jones

Used to live in my street when I lived in Bolton. I was a bit young to know who he was Do you mean the little lane at the bottom of Oakenbottom Road that goes over the bridge to Tong Fold? I lived in Lever Hall Road for years and my dad pointed out Jonah's house to me. Is that the one - or was my d...

Re: Who ate all the pies?

Interesting selection problems tonight now that McNaked and Mason are back in the squad. Would seem harsh on Vela and you can't see past Cravies and Feeney up front.

"Only" 13 points off the play-offs, "Only" 16 points from topping the league and yet still a couple of points needed to get out of the relegation zone. What a crazy league.

Re: Dragon slayers! - Cardiff City (H) 04/11/14

Only put one one foot wrong and that was in the second half getting caught in possession when dribbling towards the halfway line. Other than that I thought him and Mills were solid - despite Macheda jumping at them (as opposed to for the ball). Of course they were helped by the amount of cover they ...

Re: Dragon slayers! - Cardiff City (H) 04/11/14

Fantastic match all round, but I do have to say that Pratley was fecking appalling (cross for Feeneys 2nd aside). His lack of movement and general unwillingness to want the ball to his feet was shocking. He has no vision and for once It didn't seem that he put in his usual 100%. That aside, Cravies...
