Re: Pre-Season Fixtures 2018

2 matches in Portugal were mentioned, so I'm holding off on another trip on the bike, just in case they're not merely a rumour. Wish they'd get on with it and let us know, the ferries are getting bloody expensive!

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Investment or not, change of owners or not, I can only see another season of hard fought consolidation, with the spectre of relegation hopefully out of the way a little earlier. A mixture of journeymen, young loanees and whoever else we can cobble together at relatively low cost will form the squad ...

Re: Safe Standing debate....

I don't mind people standing up at the match, just as long as they're as far away from me as it's possible for them to be. I tend to find that standing at a game appeals in the main to a certain type. The sort you find positioned towards the scoreboard at home games.   ...

Re: Season Tickets 18/19

ST prices seem reasonable, but as I now work a lot of Saturdays, I'm not sure it's worth me buying one. At £35 per game pay on the day, to stand in a 45 minute queue, they can GTF. I won't ever pay 35 quid to watch a championship game of football, so Radio Tango it is for me, presuming the premium s...

Re: Jlloyd Samuel

Awful news. I found myself being thankful that he had dropped his children off. If you suffer catastrophic injuries driving something as big and solid as a Range Rover, it must have been a significant impact and could have been so much worse for his family had it happened 5 minutes earlier. Bless hi...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Don't worry, Spearing is on his way back I reckon. A man I think Bruce summed up perfectly with the phrase "His second touch is always a tackle". Have no fear!

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

I wonder how many of those who want their heads testing, will buy season tickets for another 40 odd games of PP stylee football? Ken's problem is that he has to make a decision prior to knowing that figure. Does he allow a manager with a very poor record of signings to blow our summer budget (If we...

Re: Release or retain?

Blimey, I'm very surprised to see Ameobi get so many votes. A Newcastle fan I spoke to last week reckons he'll have two or three good games when he needs a new contract, then make no effort. A Middlesborough fan I spoke to some while ago now summed him up by saying "You'll get 2 flashes of genius in...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

I suspect PP will get the chance he deserves, but it looks like that might depend on whether potential new Saudi investors want to rub shoulders with Gianfranco Zola or the like. On another note Insano, I'm hearing that we might be playing some pre season games in Portugal. That'd be a lovely trip i...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

if we retain a tactically inept manager who spends money poorly, can't motivate players or coach them effectively. Spends money poorly , Christ on a raleigh chopper, i must have missed him pissing our mega funds away. Exactly my point! We had no funds, but have to pay wages at a reasonable level. W...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

PP isn't the man to take us forward next year IMHO OK, we survived having diced with administration and having spent nothing in the transfer market. However, we still had a well paid, experienced squad of players, several of whom have recent Premiership experience and extensive Championship playing ...

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

Finishing in those positions are all and well providing your fans are just happy by that. Bolton fans wont settle for anything less than promotion. Parkinson has had his time and failed. The bloke still doesn't know his best eleven, and that shows every week when we see the team selection. Fail to ...

Re: I Wandered lonely as a cloud ..Whites v Wolves Sat 21st Apr. 3-0

Today is all about goal difference for me. Losing isn't a disaster, a point would be a great result. Keeping it down to -1 or preferably goalless might give us a bit more of a goal difference with Brum. Small margins and all that, but I reckon it might just come down to it on the last day.

Re: CRUNCH TIME. Away at Baaaarnsley. Saturday Apr14th 3pm

Just as I feared, a very defensive team, with Clough not even making the bench. It's s**t or bust today. PP is going to get slaughtered if we get nothing from this game.

Re: CRUNCH TIME. Away at Baaaarnsley. Saturday 3pm

The line up will be interesting. Play the usual defensive line up that can't score a goal or even create much of a chance and I fear we'll get tanked. I'd like to see 2 up top. I can't see PP breaking the habit of a lifetime, but I don't see why not. You can't do worse than create nothing, score non...

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

If, IF we survive, it will now only be because 3 other teams perform worse than us over the next 3 weeks. I do think one win would be enough, but all I can see is a maximum of 2 points out of the last games we have. It will go down to the last match mathematically, it's bound to, but the worrying th...

The Birmingham press reckon a super computer has predicted they will get relegated and we survive on 43 points. That's alright then!
