Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
Appleton is wank. he's won like 12 of his 45 matches as pompy manager. He's not good enough IMO to manage a team that could end up back in the prem... To be fair he's also been in charge of a club that wasn't/isn't sure of being open for business the next day... I'm not saying he should be in line ...

Are they real rumblings or just fans who pine for days gone by?DJBlu wrote:Hearing more rumblings about BSA.
Can't and wouldn't understand his logic having a team that is doing well to drop it to come back up north.

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
Maybe he turned down Villa because he doesn't want to go straight into the EPL, would rather go into English football a bit lower down... we'd be perfect! Or he just didn't fancy Villa, who aren't exactly in great shape themselves considering the resources of the club. 'Even' managing in Norway, ta...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
Today's BN has Super John heading back here to live after quitting his job in the States. Ivan Campo has also Tweeted, apparently, that if P.G. calls him he's willing to come back and help his "family". The Clans are gathering. I'd take him up on it, not to manage the team, but coach and hel...

Have made a few posts already, but thought it polite to give myself a little introduction and hello. I'm Dan(ardif1) and live in Reading (I'm not bwfcdan94 though). I'm 'sort of' a Boltonian... all my family are from our fair town, but as my Dad was in the Army I've moved all over the place, and was...

Re: Just to cheer everyone up
I watched this the other night when feeling a bit low and nostalgic for 'better times'... The days when Jay-Jay playing for us meant I could have a smug little grin at school knowing my team's best player was the one whose tricks everyone else was trying to copy at lunchtime... I used to get such a...

If not him, go for Guardiola... even if it's replied to with fits of laughter, at least we tried.
Go on Phil, give Pep a ring, he might fancy it!

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
Thomas Tuchel. Has made Mainz into the 'Bolton of the Bundesliga', is a very clever chap who reminds me a lot of Jurgen Klopp (who funnily enough had the Mainz job before Tuchel!). Tactically astute, has experience of small budget clubs and has potential as well as ambition (ok a move to Wanderers w...

Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
Dutch football is another good place to look at the moment, as the competitiveness of the league seems to have increased and that can be attributed to the talent pool increasing beyond just the big teams of PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord... look at Twente, Alkmaar and others...

Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
I can't see Bundesliga managers dropping down to the Championship though. And we won't get Bielsa in a million years. You don't know until you try. What team in English football is actively looking at the Bundesliga for talent in all areas in the game? Bielsa is just me being silly and thinking of ...

Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
Thanks for the thoughts, danardif. I doubt I can name more than a dozen managers in the whole of football, so it's nice to be given something to think on. None of the British options appeal to me, especially not Redknapp whom I detest (not that he'd ever come to Bolton anyway). I like Germans, ther...

Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
So is there a list of potential and realistic candidates should Gartside do the right thing and get rid of Coyle sooner than later? We're mostly looking at free agents or young talent from lower down the leagues, as we can't really afford to buy someone out of a big contract, plus our cache isn't pa...

Re: Too easy to say Coyle out. How do we go forward from he
Hi there guys, have been watching these forums for a little while, and the state of our beloved Wanderers has 'inspired' me to join in. I have to say that I'm really worried for the Whites at the moment. There is no real confidence, OC is flagging and has no real tactical plans for when games evolve...
