Re: The Politics Thread
So you're down with Germans dying when we could've stopped it but didn't because we want better tariffs on washing machines? That's not even fair to suggest. You could just as easily spin it around and say that the EU could prevent it by coming to a sensible agreement over trade tariffs, or droppin...

Re: The countdown- Where will we finish?
Finished 2-0 to Sheffield. I think that makes Sheff U the champions. As they are averaging 2ppg and are 7pts clear, we'd almost certainly have to win all our 7 to overtake them. It depends on which Sheffield turns up for April. In January they got 1.4 ppg. That would leave them on 90/91 points. The...

Re: The countdown- Where will we finish?
Champions will be a tough ask. They've got a slightly easier run than us with just one game against a playoff team, whereas we have two (including Southend who are on a good run of their own atm). Sheffield have also got games against 3 of the four teams currently in the relegation zone. Granted tha...

Just realized I accidentally used a double negative there lol. They may not even get the opportunity if Theresa May blocks it from happening until after Brexit like the rumours suggest.

Wee Jimmy's banging on about a 2nd referendum for Scottish independence. Can one of you explain this to me please because as I see it Scotland voted to remain part of the UK. The UK voted to leave Europe. That's the end of the matter. Technically speaking we voted to leave the EU. We're still very ...

Just finished reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It was a tough read in all honesty. It kept doing flashbacks and weird side-steps that didn't contribute anything at all. It could have easily been much shorter without losing anything essential to the story. Being a fan of fantasy and having alwa...

IMHO he is the worst Striker we have ever had that has played more than 10 games (I don't count players under 10 games) Just league games or including cup games? If the latter then I would like to suggest Mario Jardel. 7 League games, 0 goals. He did score 3 goals in 4 cup games but he was less tha...

Reading The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E Feist. Solid fantasy! Magician is the first one and it rules. I've just bought that on the Kindle store this last week. It was one of the 99p daily deals that they do. Currently reading Children of Time. A good but very unusual sci fi story where spiders have e...

Came across this article when I was trying to look up the debt levels from back then:

Quite a few interesting facts and numbers in there.

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
How much did Big Sam actually spend? I don't remember many big transfers. Other than Anelka and Diouf of course. And we made an okay profit on the former. I thought he mainly operated on the cheap and paid more on the wages instead? Granted wages obviously accumulate over the season, but I still rem...
