Obviously it's just a dramatised version, but I watched the Jimmy McGovern film tonight, and I don't understand the anger at the accidental death verdict. As I said previously they are in bits, don't know where to turn, emotional, looking for answers. Anger and sadness are easy emotions to feel, if...

Most of us on the outside do genuinely puzzle at the fact that today is so dominated by calls for recriminations and allocations of blame and not a remembering of the dead. Mate, you seem a highly intelligent young individual, but you seem to have a blind spot here. These people are not acting rati...

I play semi seriously. I have been playing for around three years. 1st year I lost, since then I have won significant amounts. I play mostly on Poker Stars, and won a 2100 player tournament in January (ironically after my trip to the Blackburn game had to be aborted due to chaos on the roads) for $1...

Celebrities - nooooo
I am currently sat here, with my other half, who has persuaded me to watch the the celebrity kilimanjaro climb, and I am now deep into a resenting celebrity period. Fair enough, when these people sing, or DJ, or present, they are fine, they are doing what they get paid to do. But watching them cry a...

Quite an enjoyable last day there. I think England made a good effort in the last two sessions, but under Strauss I feel that this England team will be consistently gallant losers taking positives (in a Sammy Lee stylee) from defeats. The attack is looking particularly threadbare. Despite the perfor...

It amazes me that he not only has a huge blindspot regarding his own image, but he consistently shows an inability to gain an understanding in every interview he gives. To Sam: You have proved you are decent football manager, but you appear limited tactically, you play a the same direct way each gam...

I still don't understand why so many "pundits" can see sense with not enforcing the follow on. We had 12 overs to get through on the 3rd day, Broad and Anderson took the new ball anyway on the last day, so they were surely capable of taking the new ball on the 3rd day. Harmison and Flintoff were bat...

Great game in the end - this is what makes Test Cricket one of the greatest sporting spectacles in the world IMO. Well done WI. They have certainly improved their application and this represents a huge step forward for them. It feels like a loss for England. Not enforcing the following on was the ke...

Finely balanced this now. Whoever comes out on top should go on to win the series. I think Strauss definitely made the wrong the decision in not enforcing the follow on. Rain was always a possibility today (England have been lucky only 3 overs have been lost so far) and there was only a hour of play...

Having a scan on his knee - possibly another cruciate injury.
Perhaps this explains why Fulham were prepared to get rid, and perhaps it is a lucky escape for us?

It isn't a silly statement at all. I meant the fact that you have or haven't religious beleifs shouldn't have a bearing on the everyday life of politicians or political matters, the topic of conversation in this thread. I thought you would understand that. Oh, I understand perfectly. And it's still...

Did anyone go to Farny Grammar in the 80s - and if so ever fail to do their English homework for Mr Stephens? The guy in the article sounds tame by comparison. Didn't go to Farnworth Grammar but Mr Stephens moved to Little Lever School when they closed the Grammar down and I had the pleasure there....
