Re: Tonight's Football

Tottenham at home on the last day is their big chance at home. Win that and it might be enough given the dire form and tough fixtures of others down there. That's gives Sam a few weeks and 3 games to work on stuff.
Still think they're going.

Re: Tonight's Football

Big Sam to Leeds with 4 games to go. Bonkers, but understandable. One win for any of the threatened sides could do it. I think Leeds and Everton will go though. I’m not sure it is understandable. I mean Allardyce is a better manager than anyone Leeds have had this season, and by some distance. But ...

Bit of a balance between resting a few and not getting a confidence-sapping tanking. 3-4 changes and early subs I reckon.

Always thought Vela was overrated. A fairweather player who was fine when the going was good. Seems to like a thuggish tackle against us but don't remember him as much of a battler when the chips were down.

Having said all that, I don't feel the need to go and anonymously insult him in Twitter!

Talking of which, what's happened to Bruce R?
He's absolutely fine. Was out with him last week.
I'd snog him, what about you?

I think The Owls realised a few games ago that they'd missed out and the disappointment will have faded. Hat-trick yesterday will have helped. Must be clear favourites, but you never know

Great result to end up in playoffs, feel I did my bit by not going! 😁
Hope a couple of strikers get the shooting boots on next weekend and enter the playoffs with confidence.

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season

This seems reasonable. If this year was about getting bodies in to start it off. It does seem like there is no-one who has got anywhere near first team standard in year 1 though, and that's at a level we're looking to progress upwards from.

Well that was certainly not my intention! I'll add that Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley will be booking their Wembley travel regardless . You're welcome. 😁 :D Nah, too late, I’m on such a roll that I’ll counter thusly: three of the last four semi-finals in this division were lost by the team that ...

Re: Beware the man in black..Home v Fleetwood, Sat 29th Apr. 3-0'clock.

I do wonder if he's talking about something else by chances given he talks about how the last decision or last pass aren't there. I'd describe that more as we're getting in good areas but aren't turning that into clear cut chances and goals, which I think is true. +1 While we're looking quite blunt...

Re: Beware the man in black..Home v Fleetwood, Sat 29th Apr. 3-0'clock.

I've learnt my lesson from Tuesday. Expecting absolutely nothing and hoping to be pleasantly surprised. While we're looking quite blunt at the moment, Derby and Peterborough aren't exactly ripping it up, plus they have harder games. Also possible that we draw this, drop to 7th then win as playoff un...

Re: No Pancakes please on Tuesday. Home v Accrington Tues, 25th Apr. 7.45.

Re the style of play, I find possession football boring. I like chances and attacking intent. I don't mind if it's direct. The whole Evattball thing is largely a myth. Yes we can look dynamic against poor sides but most of the time it lacks intensity and bores me. There's also an irritating pretenti...

Re: No Pancakes please on Tuesday. Home v Accrington Tues, 25th Apr. 7.45.

Oh to be sure, when we have a lot of the ball without creating chances it's frustrating. It's like the foreplay of possession without the penetration of, well, penetration. I can see why that's frustrating. But I just can't agree with the assertion, which to me sounds a tad hyperbolic, that it's "t...

It does seem something of a waste of time from a distance. I'm not sure what they expect from it. Are any of the non league loans looking promising?

Re: No Pancakes please on Tuesday. Home v Accrington Tues, 25th Apr. 7.45.

I'm certainly with the signings haven't worked. N'lundulu gets the ball and you think "yes Dan. Decent position, decent take" then he has zero clue what to do next. Shola, Mbete. Gambles not paid off. Jerome dunno what the thinking was. But Vic had 13 league goals. They can't all have been flukes (...

Re: No Pancakes please on Tuesday. Home v Accrington Tues, 25th Apr. 7.45.

Absolute wank. As with most of the handful of games I've been to this season I leave mystified as to how we're in a playoff position. We have no midfield. Sheehan and Morley are not good enough, the odd flash but no presence. Dempsey better but doesn't dominate. It was all MJ driving past them to gi...

Re: A Shrewd Idea...Home v Shrewsbury Sat 22nd April 3'O'clock.

Interesting about the forward partnership. I think he needs to pick either Vic or Dan and stick with it. Bring them off early if necessary, but agree about the consistent partnership. Lovely goal by Sheehan, thought Dempsey looked more likely but who cares. Bradley was very good, MJ bossed it, never...
