Re: Famous Five go to the Seaside...V Morecambe away Sat. Feb 5th 3-0.clock
They used to hang, draw and quarter folk at Lancaster Castle on the basis of false or flimsy evidence. They don't do it any longer but it does seem to be the case that you can be found guilty of racism merely by false accusation, as Peter Duffy and his family found to their substantial cost. https:/...

Re: Statement of Capital
I get an email on almost a daily basis from the ST about the Football Finance Governance Review but I keep asking myself, following the collapse of Bury and the near collapse of Bolton and Wigan, whether football fans are any more informed or are they just as susceptible to flannel as they were befo...

Those guys and galls at the Charities Commission aren't hanging about. The Wythenshawe Food Bank's accounts are two days overdue and the red alert warning's gone up already.
I'm curious to see if the most celebrated users of Wythenshawe food banks have made any contribution yet.

Had a trip with Lady G to Kirkby Lonsdale for lunch today. Several nice eateries In Kirkby and a good staycation place for anyone fancying a KL, Bentham golf course double. Oh KL’s lovely. We used to live 10 minutes away and spend most weekend days there. The walk along the river is beautiful, and ...

Its cold and 'orrible in Morecambe Bay today but, if its take-out fish and chips you're after, Hodgsons in Lancaster is highly recommended. Not in the city centre mind you but Nigel Hodgson's a Wanderer. I'd prefer a sit down in a really nice country inn like The Fleece at Dolphinholme, just a coupl...

Morecambe's beaches may have recently been classified as good but I wouldn't recommend taking your bucket and spade or your speedos tomorrow.

Re: Statement of Capital
Still no sign of the missing document at Companies House. BBB have plainly done a bum deal with at least £5m of taxpayers money (there may be more) and whilst a policy of 'least said, soonest mended' might have no legal justification why not try it if there is zilch chance of being held to account. ...

Re: Famous Five go to the Seaside...V Morecambe away Sat. Feb 5th 3-0.clock
Time to forget about the euphoric six goals and think about a realistic couple of goals win (one is always a nervy lead in this league). The original Famous Five would go to the seaside with shrimp nets, but the only shrimp nets we're concerned about are those with goalposts round them. The Shrimpe...

Re: Statement of Capital
Momentum's building alright. Another win in Shrimpland on Saturday and who knows? Meanwhile FV aren't half keeping the commercial lawyers busy. They don't come cheap. Another 39 pages of documents arrived at Companies House yesterday but not the missing one. You know the one we all want to see, don'...

To we know the details of the amortisation of the Covid loan, Gudnib? The short answer, Bruce, is 'not applicable'. Anyone who would like an explanation of how amortisation affects player acquisition costs could do worse than take a look here. http://priceoffootball.com/football-transfers-and-creat...

Spare a thought for Lord Agnew. Its quite possible he'd have been carrying the can if he hadn't resigned but he reckons there's 'Zippo' detail on how the Treasury's going to tackle COVID cashgate. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jan/29/lord-agnew-not-a-zippo-about-how-uk-will-deal-with-cov...

Re: Statement of Capital
Sorry Gudnib, but even Ebenezer Scrooge couldn't diffuse the euphoria of our win this morning. The football prioritises all, because without it the rest is just financial hey-ho. There's no footie without finance TD. You and I will both remember/never forget the Wanderers winning the FA Cup with a ...

Re: Statement of Capital
Well that was a day to remember, wasn't it just? An hour or so before kick-off, Companies House revealed the latest filed document on FV's share capital and what a tangled web it seems to be. Sparing you all the detail, it remains indecipherable without facts that are still under wraps, despite the ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Le Diner de Cons isn't a sports film. There's a bit of funny banter between two of the main characters who support Olympique Marseille and Auxerre respectively but that's not the main plot. There's an americanised version of the film too though I haven't seen it. The original French version is the c...

Blimey mate. Do you have an Abacus beside your bed? No mate. Neither have I a pitchfork nor rose-tinted specs. Its public money and Sharon must account for it. The plot thickens. Another document has arrived at Companies House in the last hour.
You can't see it yet but whenever there's a contrivance there's often a cock-up somewhere alongside it. Lets see what this latest effort says.

I watched 'Le Diner de Cons' again last night, with English subtitles, of course.
It always cheers me up and just seems to get better every time I watch it.
