Re: Contract expiry
He can have 50p and a rollover hotdog every week. Given the number of players we've signed who were supposed to give us some quality and have done sod all (Karacan, Noone etc) I'm all for acting like Scrooge whenever possible.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
I won't pretend to know who can and can't work up top together. I'd feel more comfortable if we had a recognised centre forward, but it's not like there's a queue of brilliant free agents. I'm not convinced you can get away without a physical presence upfront if you also lack a playmaker; but we'll ...

Re: Contract expiry
I've no problem with that. Pace is valuable. If nobody else wants him I'll be happy to see him stay and offer us an outlet.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
It's not so much who he was as what he was. Madine has shown that he can be a good centre forward in the Championship, whereas before he had potential but had only ever really cut it in League One. We've built our attacking play around having that centre forward up top to play off and around, so not...

Re: Providing sexy answers, or a little mesmerised by bigger Bristols? BWFC v Bristol City 2/2/2018 8pm.
We already are a decent championship team - our results post October 2017 say so We relied on Madine for those results. What we are now is up in the air. Enough of this shite please. Last I looked football was a team game. Madine did his bit for us this season no doubt but those results you speak o...

Re: Contract expiry
Probably. We need him to perform to keep us up, but if he does then he'll get a better offer elsewhere. C'est la vie.

Re: Contract expiry
I'd like to see Ameobi's deal extended, but then I assume that'll depend on him wanting to stay and thus us staying up. His pace is something we'll always have a use for and he seems a good pro. Having our entire back three from last night out of contract is also a bit concerning. Obviously nobody a...

Re: Providing sexy answers, or a little mesmerised by bigger Bristols? BWFC v Bristol City 2/2/2018 8pm.
Feeding off knock downs/hold up play thirty yards out is one of the most effective ways to get it to Ameobi and Clough's feet. From there we've seen previously that they can cause defender's headaches, especially when we have Little and Robinson on the overlap. Equally as effective is playing on th...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
I don't think any side needs to hoof the ball for 90 minutes, but you do need a reliable Plan 'A' that can win get you goals. The lads can put a few passes together during the course of a match, but I don't think we've anyone on the books who can reliably create good chances with through-balls. Our ...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
People used to make the same argument about dropping Kevin Davies. Drop him and the football will improve, they said. Turned out to be nonsense, because we didn’t have the players to outplay teams at that level. We’ve not currently got the players to outplay Championship sides. We can stay up, but w...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
It's about the tools the manager has available to do his job. Parky will be manager until the end of the season, regardless. If he can see fewer routes to success then losing Madine is a bad thing - regardless of whether individual fans rate him or not. Maybe another manager would have had Madine on...

Re: Providing sexy answers, or a little mesmerised by bigger Bristols? BWFC v Bristol City 2/2/2018 8pm.
I thought we did really well, considering. Bristol are full of confidence at the minute and we took a real hit with Madine going. I think if they'd scored one early on they'd have rolled right over us, but we put a real shift in and deserved a result on effort if not on overall play. We showed we ca...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
Fairly sure we took Little off because he was shattered. The lad ran until he could barely walk, much like Ameobi by the end of the game. Bringing on Morais was a gamble, but presumably Parky thought it was less of a gamble than leaving on a player who could no longer make sprints. On the Madine fro...
