Re: What are you watching tonight?

Early sitting at Filmworks in town for Anthropoid, which was the code word for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942 Prague, a story that deserved telling and done really, really well. The cinema-photography is magnificent and creative throughout. Not seen a film about the war for years but...

Re: the Photo thread

I'm enjoying shooting black and white at the moment and today, shooting directly into the sun, it was a good medium. Better than colour anyway. This is Crummock Water in the far northwest Lakes and I was there for 9am and home by mid-afternoon. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10999041/crummock%2...

Re: the Photo thread

^ Excellent! I was up in the area yesterday but south Lakes at Ulverston. We went up the Hoad monument and sat in the sun for an hour, just wonderful. I'm hoping to go up again on Friday and this time it will be a photo trip to Crummock Water, so might have another view for you soon.

Re: The Politics Thread

Sounds pretty much a carbon copy of the one I went to a couple of weeks ago. But all ordinary CLP meetings are suspended for the duration of the current campaign, except for the purpose of deciding who the constituency will vote in favour of. Did you have a vote, or did sneaking in the back way depr...

^ Brilliant job, TD, and of course I don't mind! If it's of any interest there's Dale Head on the left, Fleetwith Pike , Warnscale Bottom, Haystacks and High Crag on the right, all familiar stomping ground for me a few years back.

^ worth the trip - very nicely done indeed! :oyea: Ta. I traded all my Nikon gear in two weeks ago for a Fujifilm X-Pro2 mirrorless and a couple of lenses and have been out most days since then either around Manc or a little further afield. Absolutely loving it! No regrets whatsoever. This is from ...

Little trip to the Lakes yesterday, specifically to photograph this tree and the view beyond. On the north shore of Buttermere it is reputedly one of the most photographed trees in England.

Re: The Politics Thread

As for not winning elections were you aware that Labour won eleven (not seven) council by-elections seats just last week all but one with increased majorities and wresting one from the hands of UKIP? Not had much coverage on the BBC and in the press has that.

Just come back from Owen Smiths leadership launch in the Friends Meeting House, Manchester.

Good orator and in a few years he'll be ready, but not now.
