Re: Over (Keith) Hill and down the 'Dale....FA Trophy vs Rochdale
A good decision by Evatt to field a strong team when confidence needs building.
I hope we see Edwards and Henry in the second half.

Re: Pompey and Circumstances...V. Portsmouth away Sat 30th Oct 3.O'clock
I'm unconvinced by the idea there's a big rift between Evatt and the players by the way. He and quite a few of the squad were out in Manchester this week. It's surely very unlikely they'd socialise together outside of work if there were problems.

Re: Pompey and Circumstances...V. Portsmouth away Sat 30th Oct 3.O'clock
I appreciated Evatt's candour in acknowledging we have no Plan B but if I'm honest, I find that unimpressive. We need greater flexibility when either the opposition are very strong or the ability of the players available to us demands more basic tactical instruction, and I think it's a false dichoto...

Re: Pompey and Circumstances...V. Portsmouth away Sat 30th Oct 3.O'clock
I read that starting eleven as Evatt prioritising experience and reliability. Not dissimilar to the approach he adopted around this time last year.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
I honestly think there's a considerable gap in talent between ourselves and the best that will take, at a minimum, two transfer windows to bridge. Should Evatt manage to do it in one I'd be seriously impressed. He might not need to - there have been plenty of examples of teams where the whole is gre...

Re: Sarcevic
Unless any genuinely explosive information comes to light, I've moved on already. We probably won't ever find out exactly what happened and yesterday's late comback suggests to me Evatt hasn't "lost the dressing room".
On we go.

What's the point of asking the full-backs to overlap and play crosses in when both our centre forwards are no taller than 5'9?

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
One interesting detail from Sarcevic's career history is that he once signed for Shrewsbury Town and then left "by mutual consent" the December after signing. Perhaps it really was amicable, but he had featured fairly regularly for them so why would his departure come a month before the transfer win...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Two headstrong characters, both in a bad mood, find themselves in disagreement in front of the rest of the squad, possibly even over something relatively trivial. Neither are willing to back down and the row intensifies to the point where it goes beyond the point of no return. That is probably the b...

Politic scored a lovely individual goal for Port Vale today. His second goal in as many appearances. I'd post a video of it here if I could get to grips with embedding tweets. Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21
I’m thinking (hoping) this will do us and Evatt good in the long run. Cant keep losing by the odd goal and glossing it over cos of the football. Be like orient last season and the Crellin epiphany. I thought similar as I trudged away after the match. If there is to be a silver lining from today it ...

Re: When Saturday comes, it's Wednesday. V.The Owls Sat,09/10/21.
I think we have a number of players in our starting eleven who are currently operating at the apex of their range, if you will. That's most evident when the opposition, usually leading, cede possession and challenge us to break them down. Last season, one league lower, we were just good enough to do...
