Agreed. He had a good spell at Cheltenham 8 years ago. Not done anything of any note since. Very odd appointment imo

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Sorry to hear that Clapton, that's terrible. A friend of mine did the same a few years ago. I gave up after a while trying to make sense of it.

Re: whips and jockeys...
It's a debate that intrigues me is this. I have no interest in horse racing. Whipping an animal to go quicker just strikes me as cruelty yet I hear on R5 today that the jockeys are talking of going on strike and folk like me just "don't understand horse racing". This is certainly true, but I'm sure ...

Re: The Politics Thread
The Employment Secretary, Chris Grayling, said that what the UK was now seeing was "the impact of the international financial crisis". I wish they'd make their mind up. Last week it was the fault of the mess they inherited from the previous administration and was all Labours fault. Now it's the inte...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Had my best race in quite a long while this afternoon. A muddy and wet 3 lap course but despite recent injury problems I felt surprisingly good and strong. Even beat a clubmate that I've only ever beaten once before in umpteen attempts. Now for the reward of beers and chilli this evening

Re: The athletics/running thread
X country season starts on Saturday, so I dragged my ar5e out on a 6 miler yesterday and I'm just about to pop out for a 3 mile session with sprints between alternate lamp posts. Injury still hasn't cleared properly yet and last night Mrs G tweaked her calf. Seems we are both going to be out of the ...

When I dabbled at golf a few years ago I had a few people recommend insurance to me just in case of this type of instance occurring. Anyone on here insured for their golfing?

If you're going that way for an Italian why would anyone not go to La Scala on the A6? Same deal, 9.99 for 3 good size course and the quality of food is top notch.

No idea whether she really is innocent or not. Never really got to hear (or I missed) what was the connection between the household & Rudy Guede (sp?) and the other bloke who got mixed up in it all. Don't suppose we'll ever know now.
And I would too.

Fair play to Sturridge as well for his non reaction to the 2 (very easy) goals we gave him.

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
Aye. If we're playing 4-5-1 that becomes 4-3-3 then lets do it like BSA did it, with no wingers and a tighter midfield 5. Whilst we are leaking goals, Petrov needs to be kept well away from the starting XI

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
That said, we are a disorganised rabble and the performances have been unacceptable. The performace against Norwich, for me was more worrying than today's, because we clearly had little clue against a recently promoted team with little spending power. What's really worrying is the fact he seems to ...
