Rachubka? After years of stability and excellence in goal we really did have some shockers during our dark days sliding down the leagues.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 9:11 pmWe’ve had worse reserve keepers. Remi Matthews and that clown we signed from Leeds in recent years.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.
Re. Morley: I'm quite surprised at the length of his new contract but Evatt clearly has a great deal of faith in him and, if nothing else, we're tying down a saleable asset. With a bit of luck, the security he now has allows him to really knuckle down and nail a place in our starting eleven. Yeah. ...

Contract extension for Morley which seems to end some of the recent discussion on here. Clear that Evatt sees him as someone who can do a job for us long term a division higher.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.
I think debate on Morley is valid. I raised the issue in the match thread on Saturday. He’s been generally good while he’s been here. He’s been a key part of us going from division newcomers to a playoff side. I do feel he’s plateaued in the last few months though. There is near universal agreement ...

Re: No Pirates up the Irwell. Home to Bristol Rovers, Sat 16th Dec, 3-0'clock
Is Morley playing himself to a January transfer? We’ve been winning without him. He looked miles off it when he came on at Pompey and sounds like he’s struggling today. I think it would be tough to dump this on Morley... Oh don’t worry. I understand he’s one of many today, but it feels like if we’r...

Dempsey and Morley hardly banging the door down to start next week. Has Vic touched the ball yet?

The second half feels a bit like the Barnsley playoff game. Only 1-0 but we’ve just not looked like scoring. Portsmouth comfortably better and far more dangerous when they get the ball.

I think we look a bit hurried on the ball. They’re pressing well and putting us under pressure. Lots of passes just half a yard off and we’re giving it away.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 9:22 pmThey want this more than we do. Players shirking passes and hiding since half time. Really disappointing.

Morley’s free kick at Charlton was lovely aesthetically. Perfect dip, curl, and in off the post past diving fingertips.

Not sure that Dion appearing to laugh when their player got sent off was particularly classy. Their number 4 had been a knob all game though. Pretending to be injured, niggle against our guys, whinging to the ref demanding free kicks for minimal contact. Ref gave him a right bollocking in the first...

Re: Cricket World Cup
I think the lack of 50 over games we’ve played in the run up to this has been the issue. We’ve played half as many as we did in the 4 years before 2019, and it feels like the majority of those this cycle we’ve fielded a second string squad. There’s just not been enough high intensity preparation. Th...

Seeing the Tories lose seats that (in a uniform national swing scenario) would leave them in double figures potentially as the third largest party is always fun. Pretty unprecedented times. Lovely to see but Labour increasing their vote by just 800 is concerning. The country appears hungry for chan...

I don’t doubt we’re trying to get rid. The question is whether a team who they would want to move to would want them.

Re: Match Thread: Pasties and Pies - A Tasty affair! Bolton v Wigan (H) - Saturday 19th Aug / 12.30
It was interesting that Phil Brown said that he couldn’t understand why Evatt didn’t change it after ten minutes. Like it was so obvious we were being out fought and that players selected couldn’t cope (apparently they mentioned this at that point during commentary) and he said that he would have c...
