Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Kone is a very good player. Decent athlete, captained Strasbourg a couple of times whilst on loan and is a real threat from set pieces. Didn't quite work for him at Lyon. They gave him the 4 shirt (a big deal) and expected big things - he was seen as the major reason Guingamp won the cup in 2009, al...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Small morsel on Nixon's Twitter. Q: Anything new on Rodwell and Wyke? Nixon: Agreeing a Wyke fee will be a challenge. Rodwell was down last week for a chat despite the unsurprising denials. The reaction from people I know to that Rodwell rumour was horror, but I'm not sure it'd be a bad signing. He...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Little tippy-tappy players with one destroyer could described a lot of good sides over the years. If we can grab a proper centre forward we'll have enough height in the side. The question will be whether the footballers in the side are good enough, rather than tall enough. Work rate, organisation an...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
Basic blerb. Better than never hearing from anyone at the club. I'll now try and get myself into a tizzy regarding possible Scottish signings...is Ali Crawford still available?

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Megson set us up not to lose and to try and nick a result. Owen insisted to me that plans didn't matter and football was all about individual battles and spirit - "Formations don't win games, men do" as I recall. Freedman constantly played players out of position and seemed to think he could turn pl...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I'll also be interested to see what "the plan" is. Since Sam left, we've not had a manager who built a squad with a specific way to win games in mind. We've either had a team built to try and not lose or a collection of individuals jammed into a system (or not even with a system, under Coyle). Here'...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Meanwhile, some other clubs are snapping up what look like superb freebies. Hopefully we are near on a few. Name names. Who are these freebies we should have been all over? Not sure about whether we should have been all over them, we are on a shoestring budget, but players like Hakeeb Adelakun have...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Yup, which is why I assume they'll see some game time. I doubt either signed on with the promise they'd rot in the reserves and I also doubt we're handing out contracts to people we think have no chance just to fill up the U23s. I see what you mean, it makes sense and I can't prove otherwise, but e...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Both Johnson and Pritchard were well regarded by their clubs until they got injuries. Arsenal and Spurs both underwent changes to their academy management after those players joined and they went from on the verges of a first team chance in the cups to outsiders. I assume they're in for the U23s, bu...

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/16326611.jason-lowe-on-value-of-boltons-scotland-training-camp/ Now Ily Billy is saying no new signings until THIS Saturday. Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
If Amos wasn't on (for us) a huge deal I think he'd be there pushing for a starting spot again. Whatever went on with him mentally, he's not a bad player. As for signings and people "jetting in" for trials, I love a bit of speculation but I'll wait for the shirt and smiles pictures before getting at...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I don't trust any agent as far as I can throw them, including the current owner. I've nothing against anyone, but nothing will get me "believing" until everything is signed and official. Mendes or anyone else, if they bring sensible investment, is welcome. I'll not hold my breath.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
We've been trying to get Miguel Veloso to Bolton for about 10 years, if you buy the rumours. If it finally happened I'd probably die laughing.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Never in a million years are Garner and Alf attacking mids. They're just about the most strikery strikers who'll ever strike.
