Re: The athletics/running thread
Daughter did her first pole vault competition today so new pb - and a club record, she really enjoyed it! One of England Athletics more random licensed competition venues, a big barn on a farm in the middle of nowhere! Good for her. I'd be absolutely terrified. 😁 She’d feel much the same as you if ...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Fair feck*! Well done to her. Something I've always wondered - how do you start pole vault? Like, that first go surely there's a pretty high chance you come boinging bank where you came from, from 10 feet up? Everyone asks that! You build up very gradually. You practice all kinds of different drill...

(They are second only to spurs in my hatred of football teams, if we can’t win it I’d rather Newcastle did, even with their dodgy owners)

Re: Tonight's Football
City have spent more on transfers then us in the past 5 years, £616.96m to our £563.77m. They have just been better at selling then us - so we aren’t throwing a lot more at transfers then them Yes, you are. Your net transfer spend is higher than theirs. It's not complicated. They've not been as far...

Recent list of richest clubs below. They have more money than you. You are throwing a lot more at transfers. Their wage spend is higher, but you've been dreadful at player trading, rather than not spending. Loads of money out, very little coming back. Like I say, third for net spend behind Chelsea ...

a young side that’s not made of money win the league then money bags City You're third in net spend over the past 5 years. City are 10th. Recent list of richest clubs below. We are nowhere near City, even Spurs are above us, hardly poor I grant you but can’t afford to pay out as much as others on f...

Re: Tonight's Football
Can't bring myself to type it. But I live 2 mins from the Emirates and it's been awful. I would have thought most neutrals would rather see a young side that’s not made of money win the league then money bags City again but there we go? I’m obviously biased! They would. We were all delighted for Le...

United up next. I just hope we keep injury free as City have way more strength in depth then we do which could be where we lose it.

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever
I don't watch much Premier league footy at all these days but I saw that match this afternoon. Such was Arsenals dominance in the 1st half, 3 or 4 nil wouldn't have flattered them. I so wish Partey's (?) shot had gone in rather than rattling the post. What a strike! So excited by The Arsenal you po...

Re: The athletics/running thread
So I’ve done no running, but I have joined the leisure centre! This week I’ve done a grit class (so unfit!) a spin class (could barely walk afterwards) and a Pilates/yoga/tai chi mash up this morning so feeling virtuous. Wonder how long before the novelty wears off!
