Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched BBC4 on Venice (again)... I've never been , I must do it... And then on Flinders Petrie, great name, the man who 'discovered' Egypt... Who turned out to be a brill archaeologist and another 'intellectual' fooled by the phony science of eugenics. BBC4 once more preventing me deciding on the ...

Anyone remember the Auteurs?
Just reading Bad Vibes by their former frontman Luke Haines & despite listening to a lot of music around that time, I cant for the life of me, remember em. Anyone think they were any good?

Re: The athletics/running thread
Check out Piriformis syndrome Harry. I sincerely hope it isn't. Thanks for that G, seriously. I thought it may be something like that but couldn't remember the name. However, looking at the symptoms I'm fairly optimistic it isn't that. Having done several stretches, I've finally found one that twee...

Love him or loathe him, it's an incredible victory that gave all 3 main parties a serious kicking.

Re: Cars
Just got shot of my Focus which was a great car. Ran for ever on no tlc whatsoever. They're a lot dearer now so what about a Fiesta? The new ones are bonny looking cars & relatively cheap to run.

They'd not even be alive if folk didn't eat them though. And I don't trust cows. Playing thick. They're plotting. I'm on a one man crusade to kill them off, smothered in a nice peppercorn sauce. Oh aye they taste lovely, particularly bacon but if there's one thing that would make me give up m...

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
All these pigs, cows, lambs etc are only there because humans want to eat them. I've never ever understood vegetarians who are so because they don't like the thought of hurting animals. I get those that don't like meat, or want the health benefits? etc... But those animals are bred for eating. Yes,...

Sounds bob on to me Gary. That's pretty much what I'm hoping for at London. I'm doing a 20 miler next weekend & then tapering, so I'll just do 14 or 15 with you. Will 17+ not be a bit too much just 2 weeks before?

Re: The athletics/running thread
Just got back from an 18 mile run over Holcombe Moor in an event organised by the LDWA. I dont know if it was the heat (it is stil l March isn't it?), poor fuelling or neighbours kicking off last night and keeping me awake, but by God I struggled. I would have started walking at one point if it had...

Car insurance. Anyone else renewed lately? Full comp on a basic car, NCD & breakdown was under £300 last year. This year my company quoted me £432. Shopped around and managed to get it just under £300 again. New company says help the environment and have your documents e-mailed to you. Ooh thats nic...

New PB on the parkrun by a whole second :D 29:36 Made the catastrophic error of setting off with the gazelles and seriously struggled to get my act together after that. Still - I completed it. 8) Great stuff Bruce. A PB is a PB! I did it today too, not sure I would have recognised you but sorry for...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Just done a 5K coastal path run. Really hard work in places but wonderfully invigorating - running in the sea breeze :D Nice one Bruce. Rehab for me yesterday was a 12 mile run in 1hr 44 minutes. Slow but steady. I'm up in Bolton for the Easter weekend and have to squeeze in an 18 miler. HG are you...
