Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

On the Teixera deal... Iles has just said in this thread that Porto* would take "lower" than the 300,000 Euros they paid Liverpool for him, according to Portuguese press. Surely even Uncle Ken can see that's got to be value? https://twitter.com/MarcIles/status/1014034434612490240 *Do we know yet if ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

 I kind've feel sorry for GKs like that. Should I? I suppose there's guys who take being a journeyman back-up 'keeper over a guaranteed place. For him I guess it would be 150, 200k a year with no pressure other than the EFL Cup and a slight Gollum-like desire for Alnwick to do his ankle in Vs 5...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Even accepting the fact we're still currently operating under Uncle Ken's if-you're-cold-put-a-jumper-on budget, this might help put this summer's approach to business into a bit of perspective: Tyler Walker has today gone on a season-long loan to... Mansfield Town. :? Unrelated... Presuming Amos he...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Rumours this morning that Everton are after Celtic's Kieran Tierney to challenge/succeed Leighton Baines at LB. Could make the Return of the Jedi a bit more of a possibility if that comes to fruition.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Cracking news we've got Sammy to stay. And two years at that - good we've got another one who'll still be on the books next summer. We freed up £45k - £50k pw of permanent wages with our releases this summer. Sammy's maybe getting an extra 4 or 5k? Lowe and Ozzers... 6 to 8 each? (Just sticking a lu...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

^ Just looked back through MI's tweets and indeed it was a flat "no" from him when asked if there was much in rumours of a Roberts deal.

Looks like an announcement is incoming today. Lee gave Nixon a little scratch with the claw last night for suggesting it may be more than a new signing.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Nixon morsel:
Bolton. Talking to two midfielders. Probably only take one. Both cheap enough for current budget.
In response to how good: "ok at the wages".
In response to whether one of them's Ireland: "No. That's gone quiet".

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

We've meanwhile "cooled" on Akpan, according to Iles. Does this suggest we have *whispers it* better prospects lined up for midfield, or is this all a rouse by Ken to panic Akpan's agent and get 500 quid a week knocked off his contract?

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Nixon talking up a move for Akpan - who's seemingly decided to leave Burton now - while also linking us with a move for Bradford's Charlie Wyke. Is the plan to get hold of folk who've scored against us, in the hope there'll be no-one left to score any more?! https://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/20...

Tweet from Nixon this afternoon:
Bolton. Very surprise interested party in the club. Bit late to party all the same. No story to write just yet. But interesting development.

Yes, the bookies think only Rotherham are more likely to go down.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Millwall apparently interested in taking Amos for the season.

Iles reports that Charlton paid £4k of his £16k p/w wage last year - and Kenneth obvs wants more this time around.
