Re: New Foreign Player Rules - A Big Deal For Markham

Presumably Dad Bod wouldn’t count towards our quota given he’s a regular at international level?

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Yeah happy with that. An extra year based on appearances this season seems very fair n’all.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I'd guess that if we're to get any game-changing flair type players this summer it's most likely to be on loan. There aren't many real final third difference makers knocking about on frees, or available for the kind of money we pay. Would we have a shot at either Ben Doak or Kaide Gordon from Liverp...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Is Norburn any good? I can't really recall noticing him when we played Posh this season.

Bolton born and adds physicality and experience in the middle of the park, so makes some sense on paper. Paying a transfer fee for a 30 year old doesn't align quite as well with our sustainability drive, though.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I'm going to stick my neck out and say the club will announce what's happening with Dad Bod this afternoon. I can't think that the club wouldn't have demanded a decision from him by now, and they like to do a Friday announcement, so that's my shout for the day.

Re: Contract expiry

Happy enough with Sheehan coming back. He put in some good displays towards the end of the season and hopefully should be primed to deliver more consistently now he's put the injury behind him. I also think continuity in the playing squad is important, and Josh coming back means there's one less new...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

34 pages with barely a sniff of an actual transfer rumour is pretty good going. As enthralling as the debate over the merits of a striker we’re not going to sign has been, I’m quite up for having some more meaty links thrown our way. The best Iles can do this morning is bring up the name of Lee Boni...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Dion's not much of a facilitator, is he? Perhaps points to the kind of player we should be looking to pair with him.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I agree with the sentiment that creativity/chance creation is what we're lacking, rather than finishers up top. If JDB re-signs I'd be happy with him, Charles and Vic as our core rotation, with perhaps a younger, quicker prospect being brought in as a back-up and longer term project. I actually hope...

Aye yeah, but things move fast, Worthy old chap. We might have players in mind as replacements for those two, but if they're any good then they might not be available for too long...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I wonder how long we'll give Sheehan and Dad Bod to make their minds up before we move on? I suppose there might be a bit of back-and-forth regarding wages and contract lengths, but we've got a big recruitment job on our hands even if they do re-sign, so you'd think we'd need to know fairly sharpish...

Seems pretty unlikely we’ll be spending £1m+ on a midfielder this summer.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

If Exeter are offering better wages/additional years then he probably goes. He’d be a starter there, they’re a good club that will likely be at least mid table, and it’s a bit closer to where he comes from.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Nixon seems to be suggesting that Sheehan has contract offers from ourselves and Exeter.

I’d like to see him back, but he’s not one to break the bank for.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I reckon prospective buyers of Wigan's players might continue to wait, on the suspicion that things are only going to continue to go downhill for them. The bullshit their Chairman is spouting about international transfers taking a long time is surely washing with no one. It's 2023 - these things tak...

Presumably they'd be looking for at least £2m for him. It's not hard to imagine a Championship team paying that, either.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Toughsheet have bought £250k...On top of their stadium sponsorship... I am trying to ignore the bond, but I am delighted a local business is backing the club. Mr Tough Shit isn't going to care if his 250k never comes home. He's getting good mileage out of his relationship with the club. I would lov...
