Re: Red cards and Red Kits, Bolton v Charlton - 17th Feb 2024 3pm

Good game to watch and came away quite buoyed by the entertainment factor, but we defended poorly. I imagine everything has already been said about the keeper, but that second goal especially, he could literally have stuck his foot out, controlled it and picked it up it was that close to his right s...

Re: Red cards and Red Kits, Bolton v Charlton - 17th Feb 2024 3pm

If I were a referee and good at my job, I'd make a point of reading the fans sites of whoever was my next game? Just to see what they may think of my work. Then again, I'm not a referee. As to the game, twill be a spirited affair as ever when the Roses meet. Another were great care is needed, the T...

Re: Red cards and Red Kits, Bolton v Charlton - 17th Feb 2024 3pm

As long as we keep 11 on the pitch, which seems incredibly unlikely with Ross Joyce officiating us, we should beat these. They have quality, but have a soft centre and are on a horrendous run.

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

I don’t feel great about our recent performances, but my gut feeling is we will start to get better and better as key men come back and the new lads come up to speed. Right now we look very disjointed, as is to be expected given the amount of personnel changes we’ve been making from game to game. I...

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

And last night, being a case in point, the amount of times our midfielders, even the "advanced" ones, got the ball with their back to goal was mind-boggling. Good defending and good shape from Wycombe to ensure that, but any chance we can do something about it?

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

My challenge to you though would be about the change of style. Despite what you - and many others (esp near me in the stadium) - think, its hard to argue with the fact it is working. It might be nervy at times, and it might also be a bit slow (but thats modern football, sadly), but it is consistent...

Re: A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

With Evatt's red, it seems to me that the 4th official has told the ref he's ballsed up and is now going to have Evatt in his ear for the rest of the match,. The easiest thing for the ref to help his assistant there, is to stick Evatt in the stands

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

Someone on twitter says that Dion was holding his MCL which the gaffer also says "We'll have to wait and see" "The medial collateral ligament (MCL) runs from the inside surface of the upper shin bone to the inner surface of the bottom thigh bone. This ligament keeps your shin bone (tibia) in place....

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

Poor game in a run of poor games. I'm delighted we won, but we're not looking in good shape on the pitch at the minute. Predictable, ponderous and to be honest, really feckin boring. I think Evatt has done and is continuing to do, a wonderful job for us but I just feel like we need a change of shape...

Re: Tonight's Football

What do you reckon on the "Ten minutes in the sin bin" blue card proposed tests? The cynic in me thinks it's another thing to guarantee wins for the top teams. But I do think that some fouls that are deemed too much for a yellow, aren't always immediate reds, so an in-between thing can be good I'm ...

Re: A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

Wife and Daughter are going to this one. Our families record for longer distance away games is absolutely horrific.

Portsmouth, Plymouth (last season), Reading, Forest Green (last season) Leyton Orient, MK Dons when we lost 2-0(?) season before last, to name but a few

I apologise in advance

Sounds like a very promising signing this!! Hopefully we can wrap Toal in cotton wool during the week whilst Santos recovers and Toal can rest before the run-in

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I spotted Caleb Taylor on twitter a moment ago and I'm thinking is that not a risk? Spent last season on Loan at Cheltenham and hasn't had a game this season thus far? I think he was good enough at this level to say it's not much of a risk, but positions will vary. West Brom promised him games whil...

Glad to get Collins over the line now. Feels like a big signing for this level and hopefully can give us a lift, starting this weekend!!

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

His legs had gone by the end of the 21/22 season and he's currently a squad player in League 2.

Even in hindsight surely you can see we've moved on from his ability level?
