Re: "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" Bolton vs Posh 30th April

Sorry, car parking question... I've never driven to the Reebok/Macron, let alone on a matchday. Other half has a day off so car it is. If it's going to be busy anyone know what kinda time should be ok to get into the carparks? If everywhere is full is there an overflow somewhere? Apologies

Re: Player of the Year

Madine and Vela are joint top scorers so far this season according to the BBC with 10 each. No-ones really scored a hatfull, I suppose, but Vela scoring more than Clough is a surprise... I think he got his tenth a while back too. Wheater and Beevers together is 15 goals... that's 75% of a 20 goal-a-...

Re: Vale of tears or happy valley? Port Vale (A) Sat 22 Apr 3pm

Spearing, Vela and Pratley should be screaming for the ball and champing at the bit to show theyre championship quality players. If they can't out play and out pass their league 2 bound counterparts they can all feck off for me. Harsh but fair. It's crazy that the midfield is so bad that balls get ...

Re: The Politics Thread

I hope the police are geared up to monitor political interference from the EU in our election, Juncker and Tusk main suspects. I saw a headline a while back that Google was introducing a true/false for news stories... so, someone makes an outrageous claim and Google puts you right. Not sure if that...

Re: What will we need if we're in the Championship next season?

Twardzik (actualy Czech but signed from Celtic) - free agent now. McKee (signed from Burnley), Gregg Wylde (Rangers), spring to mind. Bloody useless, the three of 'em. (Not because they were Scottish, just because they were useless) Possibly said this before but Twardzik was ok for the rezzies. He ...

Re: What will we need if we're in the Championship next season?

Don't ask me to name names but I thought BWFC signed some players from small-ish Scottish teams fairly recently, within 5 years say. Maybe kids. I know some of the players released have ended up in Scotland... Michael O'Halloran springs to mind, who appears to be playing for Rangers. Any good, Ally?...

Re: Iron versus Wheaterbix. Scunthorpe away, Sat 8th April.

We'll lose and Fleetwood will win. It is 100% nailed on. No chance that Bolton will ever just go up without some late drama or twist. Can feel it in my water! As you said earlier in this thread, with Phils Parkinson and Morris winning the manager and player of the month respectively, we've got no c...

Re: 5,4,3,2,1... Chesterfield (H) 1/4/2017

In fairness to myself, I was in row D towards the North of the West Stand, there wasn't a huge amount of football being played over there either half. North upper might be the place to go next time. Still not convinced about the formation though. I guess the manager doesn't want to play a kid at the...

Re: 5,4,3,2,1... Chesterfield (H) 1/4/2017

Looked like 4-4-2 to me but Dervite just wasn't bombing on that much and Moxey didn't do much on the other side. It looked to me like the manager wanted to pay Dervite and Moxey at fullback despite what that did to the balance of the team. Who in their right mind would play 5 at the back at home aga...

Also, have Chesterfield sold all their players from the away game? Looked like a completely different team!

Re: 5,4,3,2,1... Chesterfield (H) 1/4/2017

I was wrong about the defeat and the rain but I think I anticipated a performance like that, unfortunately. Fullback is my favourite position. I suppose if you're trying to be defensive at home against Chesterfield you'd have to play Moxey and Dervite at either side, but it was fairly obvious second...

Re: 5,4,3,2,1... Chesterfield (H) 1/4/2017

I've not seen them win for ages. Going to this one. Apologies in advance. Went to chesterfield away. Can't be that bad again. Looking back at that game, I think some players had psychologically already left. So, this time it's good to read that Alf wants to sign permanently. I'm here so we'll lose a...

I think the away end had sold out when I looked online. A few of the away games I've looked at have been sold out too. Is the allocation not very big or is the appetite for seats really that great?

Just got back from vacation with all kinds of hot weather-related ailments to learn that the away game that is nearest to my house is sold out!? I pretty much have to go to this so looks like I'll be sat on my hands in the home end.

Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017

I'm personally trusting that Parky will have everything he needs for the rest of the season. Wasn't counting Ameobi leaving as part of the window. Presumably KA and son are doing good deals and restructuring is progressing. Hopefully there would be addons with Clough. Relatively happy, but i was hap...
