Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Even the announcer's prematch was bizarre. He sounded flustered and panicked next to Oxford's guy. Now he's apparently one social media having a go about Wigan. I thought ours was much better than their rather dull dude. Except when ours was reading the teams and got to Ogbeta, for whom he had no d...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
More "stay" voters than "go" now. Only by the famous 52-48% split, but y'know.

Whether or not I agree with it, I can see the logic in that. And if he doesn't want to accept?

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Some (but by no means all) of the criticism of Evatt is that he’s our Phil Neal and we just need to find our “new Rioch”. That’s an iconic name to bandy about. What did we mean by it? If we mean someone who, like Bruce, had already taken a team not just out of this division but the one above, they’r...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Nope, born 6/9/02 so he's 21. This season just dying now is also the final underage season for Matheson, Khumbeni, Sithole, Hutchinson and Carty. So does that mean we currently have zero outfield players we don't need to register? I'm befuddled by birthday cake and wouldn't trust my recall right no...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Bax Jones/Cogley - Santos - Toal - Iredale Dempsey - Sheehan - Tomo Randy - Charles - Collins That's not a bad base. Not enough on it's own, but with a whole summer it seems very doable to me. Decent XI. I would argue CMG could cut in from either flank. As usual, you make a convincing case. But it ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
However, having players fawningly thanked when nothing was won made me cringe. Sarcastic DSB says Wenger preferred top-four finishes to cup wins. Non-sarcastic DSB hopes they win it next year. Or anyone but Citeh (or MU, obvz). Not that I dislike Citeh, but it's a bit dull now - even with the #115c...

Well, if we can get a good fee for him, clearly it might be good for all partiesGhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 5:29 pmJoe Rafferty joins JCH at Rotherham.
Steve Evans and two experienced, quality players.
Insane may need to switch clubs at this rate.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I suspect not, but quite a lot of today's posts have made a strong set of arguments that then point to stick with broad approach, system etc. As being the main viable option and go for (wait for it.....). The better Plan A. I suspect plenty are a bit doubtful (in part for me, because I'm not sure 4...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Plenty of young managers have got promoted out of this division. Two of them this season (Mousinho and Buckingham). Two last season (Schumacher and McKenna). Leam Richardson the seaosn before that. This desire to run into the safe arms of a grizzled older man is all a bit reactive (as well as reacti...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I'm not sure, simply because I've never seen him there. TBH I've not seen a vast amount of him at LWB either. In what I did see, he didn't scream "title-winning left-back stranded in the wrong system". Iredale, Johnston, Ashworth and Williams. We weren't good enough down that flank this season and ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Quick thought. If we went back-4 and signed Ashworth, are people then happy with that one? I think I would be, yes. I'm not sure, simply because I've never seen him there. Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I like Ogbeta personally, but I would like to see us sign a next-level WB on both sides. We knew last summer we needed one on the right - hence K*ne W*lson - and I think we need a Randell rival on the left. Whether Oggy's that, I dunno.
Of course, if we're switching to a back four....

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
A switch to a 4-3-3 hinders Johnston, Dion and Santos. Randell would become a winger. Our fullback options would be Cogley, Iredale and Jones as things stand. Your front 3 is probably Vic, Collins and CMG. Midfield is Thommo, Sheehan and Dempsey. Back four would be Iredale, Johnston, Toal and Cogle...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
^^ I think for me, Bertie, if he's going to go, either under his own steam or otherwise, we just need it to occur quickly. We've been told plenty that a minority or just a few not rights want him gone, but this little survey (obviously not statistically representative) suggests there might be a few...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Simple question for those who are (understandably) asking for a back four: who's your one central striker, in either the 4-3-3 or the 4-2-3-1? If it's Charles, and let's be honest he's easily our best source of goals, how does that help the total lack of 'stickability' we saw on Saturday? If it's no...
