Re: The Champions Go Again! FLT at Home v Salford Sept 5th, 7:45
Enjoyed that. Should have been 5 up at half time, one of the most one sided half's of football at the Reebok that I can remember. 2nd half was more us, lots of great openings and opportunities but very few shots and several poor choices and touches around the box. I've been willing Dan to come good ...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window
It's highly likely to have cost us isn't it? Standard procedure is to pay up the contract for a released player who hasn't requested a transfer. Mutual agreement may mean, we've only paid a proportion of the wages and bonuses that were due.

Re: The Rest of League One 23/24
Fleetwood sack Scott Brown. Glad I wasn't the one to tell him. Odd decision. He's brought several players in this summer. Since yer man was sent down there have been concerns regarding the clubs finances and sustainability. Paying up the contract of a bloke, who on the face of it, was doing a ...

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.
Nobody wants us shooting every time we're close to the box but we'll not score many without getting a few more off than we are doing. We're getting plenty off, Harry – we're averaging 16 efforts per league game, and lest anyone think that was toploaded in the opening cakewalks, we had 21 against Wi...

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.
Despite all the possession, them being down to 10 and us frequently getting into good areas, we just didn't work their sub keeper enough. A couple of soft shots from Thomasson and he have an actual shot to save in that 2nd half? I get that crosses into the box against a large, physical, well drille...

And without wishing to sound like a negative nelly - Josh Sheehan was outstanding, in fact the midfield 3 were all on it today.

Lovely 3 points but the same concerns for me. A really good side would have scored 3 or 4 today and made for a far more chilled 8 minutes of injury time.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window
Hmmm depends on the fee but he's clearly talented. Given we spent 300k on Dan, I'd rather Shola for that money! And with CMG he'd give us the option of going 343. Aye, it was the Dan fee I had in mind. I'm willing the lad to come good for us and repay Evatts faith in him but that 300k, absolute pea...

Well yeah. I don’t like it when Evatt starts with the defensive noises. It shows he believes we are struggling. And PPG at this stage can vary wildly. The stuff about win percentages too is also a bit ‘pointless’ as I mean he’s managed Bolton at the lowest level and only shares that accolade with P...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window
Apparently we've turned down a deal for Shoretire to return (on a permanent), I think we didn’t like the fee. I wouldn't be averse to him returning, but it's not a priority position right now. A freebie with say 25-50% sell on fee, I could go for but any kind of fee would put me off. Particularly, ...

Good game that. We were the better side until they equalised. 2nd half was pretty much 1 way traffic with the notable exception of Dion being played in, 1 on 1 with the keeper and not getting a shot away. He can be forgiven though because he was bloody magnificent in the 1st half, as were Ashworth &...

I'm still thinking we'll get a prem loan before the window 'slams' shut.

I was in the side stand on Saturday and didn't hear anything bad during or after the game. I can get a bit shouty during the game. "How's he feckin missed that?" in the 2nd half on Saturday in exasperation at Vics miss but not so loud and so pointedly at him that he'd have noticed. I'd like to thin...

I'd like to see JDC rested for Saturday but whether that means Jones or Randy switching over and a possible appearance by Dec John I dunno. I can't imagine they're playing a full strength side either, despite their need for a win and a confidence boost.

https://twitter.com/SportsPeteO/status/1695886505758134534 Spotted that last night and I hope it comes to fruition. He's a pretty unlikeable chap but seemingly a good coach and he's already got Stevenage looking like a comfortable League 1 side. His departure would hopefully see them plummet and le...

Re: The Rest of League One 23/24
Wigan just signed Steven sessegnon who can play either side at wing back. Feels like one we missed out on there. Agreed. It's another good signing for them in their recent history of picking up good young talent. I expect he'll do well for them and they'll pocket a decent fee for him in a year or t...
