Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/tooting-mitcham-to-keep-faith-with-blooding-youth-after-deals-done-with-charlton-and-middlesbrough-for-trio/ I suspect it was a voluntary fee in recognition of the investment T&M had made in their development. Faal scored twice in Enfield's 5-3 win over Haringey o...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Rumours are that we have signed Muhammadu Faal, striker from non-league Enfield (supposedly had him on trial earlier in the season?), I just love rumours in the transfer window, makes you dream a little. Anyway, if true we might have the next Jamie Vardy! Been on trial for the last week or s...

Re: Contract expiry
I read the BN's interview with Darcy and he was making the right noises about being committed to the club etc, but the fact he's not signed a pro deal makes me think he's waiting to assess his options at the end of the year. Losing Ronan for nothing/peanuts would be a right kick in the balls after C...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Ah, the dear old binary internet. Wheater was a very important player here on and off the pitch, and some of the revisionism here is genuinely shocking. However, he is now old and was never much more than slow. Then again, it hardly feels like Jake Wright (to pick on just one underachiever) is vast...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
100% We already have better defenders, who are younger, fitter, stronger, faster and have more of a will to win, which he has just never had. Really? Who? Edwards or Zouma? Wasn't he called a liability a few weeks ago. Wheater is a big character that can replace Bridcutt as captain. The man lives a...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Nixon is suggesting Wheater may be coming back. Obviously we need defensive players in and he's a club legend, but I'm not sure he's the saviour at this point in his career.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Is Darron Gibson an outrageous suggestion? To my knowledge he's still without a club and I'd imagine he'd be a very good player at this level. Obviously comes with significant off-field baggage and he may be miles away from being fit enough.

Re: Contract expiry
Fark, looking at DSB's post I can see Darcy is still on a youth contract!
We need to get him tied down on a pro deal asap, because I can only imagine the vultures in higher leagues will be circling again.

If we have the opportunity to sign outfield players of quality then we in my opinion we use that spot for them. The likelihood is actually that Remi won't get injured.

Re: Contract expiry
Aye, I think we have to roll the dice and use Ben's spot to add an extra outfield player.
If we can retain our key loanees and add a couple more decent players in Jan we give ourselves an outside chance of staying up. A bad transfer window consigns us to League 2.

Re: A very Posh affair, hope it keeps fine for it. Versus Peterborough away 14-12-2019
That was the first game I'd been to this season and my thoughts this morning are: - Bridcutt at CB did not work at all - Luke Murphy wasn't anywhere near our players or theirs during the first half and was thus constantly giving them a spare man - We were the better team during the second half, and ...

That's worth a beer or two on a thursday evening!
Let's get off the bottom before Christmas, strengthen in Jan and we'll be reeeeet.

Re: The Dons visit the University...V Milton Keynes Home. 3-0'clock 15-11-2019
I'm sure that Hill will have a replacement lined up in January for Crawford & there was a rumour last night from an ex agent that Ben Marshall may be signing in the next week or so (apparently, on a pay as you play deal), but that rumour may be absolute bollocks. I also happen to think that we will...

Re: The Dons visit the University...V Milton Keynes Home. 3-0'clock 15-11-2019
Anyone got an idea as to what Buckley is injured with and when he is back? He played centrally under Hill before. He might help create some chances. The three centre mids were all a bit samey to me yesterday. Crawfords a miss. Fractured kneecap 6 weeks ago. Shouldn't be far off unless there is liga...

Re: League One 2019/20
I still don't really see it. If we had no further points deductions its still a long shot. With further points to come off - and who knows how many....I'd say more than a long shot. There is no point being defeatist, till it is impossible we fight. But the mathematics are not in our favour. Lets sa...

Re: Deduction prediction
Are the powers that be under the impression we wanted to avoid games and start the season with a massive bag of coconuts round our necks? Rules are rules, fair comment, but we're a struggling to stay alive club not villains incorporated. None of all this is the fault of the present club but the flo...

Re: The next manager
In his previous managerial tenures did Nolan's teams play an attractive style of football? Is he seen as being tactically astute, or more of a 'man manager' type? For a multitude of reasons I think it is imperative that the new owners hire a coach who promotes attacking football and is willing to in...
