Salford perhaps a likely destination for Matheson given they just lost a RB to Wrexham?

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I’d be very happy if we do get Caleb Taylor on loan (ignoring the fact it probably means either Rico or Eoin are out injured) He’s very similar in playing style and physical attributes to Toal to be honest. Tall and gangly but deceptively strong and quick. Much like Toal, Taylor isn’t terrible on t...

Yeah looks like he might be answering in the affirmative about Collins there.

Rico is out for at least a month. We are trying to sign a centre half.
Where are you getting that from? Terrible if true.

I’ll bow to Ghost et al and accept that this is a good signing.

It does almost feel like a shit or bust deal, so let’s hope he fires us to promotion.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Is the slamming shut, today or tomorrow? Tomorrow at 11pm, I think. Correct - although that’s news to me as I thought it was today. Oh well, off to the beach. FWIW I agree with BWFCi - if possible, sign a good striker and borrow a backup defender. The defender shortage is temporary, but I’ve felt a...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

And there aren't question marks about Collins ability to cut it in the Championship? So is the issue just that you don't think Collins is very good? No, my issue is that signing him for a relatively big fee now reduces our flexibility in the next window and commits us to a group of strikers in whom...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Way I see it is ‘loan a kid and spend on centre half’ is wrong way round. Loan a centre half and spend on the striker. We have and own a number of quality centre halves. We are too stretched for the rest of this season so need one maybe two centre backs on loan. But if we are spending money then it...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I hope this bid for Collins is rejected and we instead bring in loanees up front and at CB. Otherwise we’d potentially be going into a Championship season committed to four strikers all unproven and far from certain to succeed at the level. I’d also say that at the ages they’d be - Collins (27), Dio...

We’ve dropped off a lot this half, and I would suggest the absence of Santos may have a bit to do with that.

Re: Seconds out, Round Four. V Blackpool away Tues, 30th Jan. 7-0'clock.

Decent enough performance given all the changes, although I'm not overly confident we'll score with this lineup. Anyway, if we can get to 70 odd minutes at 0-0 then we can bring some of our big hitters off the bench and hopefully put the game to bed.

Re: Seconds out, Round Four. V Blackpool away Tues, 30th Jan. 7-0'clock.

Wish we could’ve changed the CBs as well, but pleased with the rotation nonetheless. Edit: Great minds. Presumably the CB role is less demanding than the wingback role so I suspect that is playing a factor. As for the lineup, interesting gamble given the new lads status. I guess that Evatt would've...
