Re: The Politics Thread
I'd fall about laughing but the Marxist party's latest idea spouted by that brain of Britain, Diane (I once was the leaders bit of rough) Abbott is far from funny. Basically they are waving the white flag over illegal immigration and offering legal aid to them to stop any deportation, planning to c...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
We need to sack the lot and start again. I'd even take a two season dive to League Two if it: A) forced Ken Anderson to sell B) got us a new manager with a teeny-weeny bit of ambition about him... and C) got us some players who wanted to actually play football... That's probably a bit too far - as ...

Re: The Politics Thread
Absolute nonsense. Double and triple voting isn't a thing. Everyone has a number, it gets checked off. It's possible people could lie and go back but there is no evidence it happens at a vaguely significant level at all. There have been give studies particularly in America where voter ID has been a...

Re: The Politics Thread
Oh dear, thick as a plank: Ellie Reeves. She's a Labour MP for Lewisham West and Penge... She said (straight-faced) "Just been to vote. Was informed that two people had already turned up without ID this morning so unable to vote. Very worrying and backs up all the evidence that the voter ID pilot i...

Re: The Politics Thread
Just another shining example of how to make our government look ridiculous . You mean "our government making themselves look ridiculous" surely? This is self inflicted. They lied, time and time again. And now are exposed. How anyone could vote for them after this is beyond me. But they will. There ...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?
Careful now – if we request a motivational manager who loves to attack, we know where that goes... download.jpg ...but obviously there's a happy medium, and I'm not talking about Derek Acorah. I dunno, I think Parky's still getting some unfair jibes. I don't think he can be castigated on one hand f...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?
I would have replaced him after we got promoted. His record spoke for itself - essentially a lower division manager with no evidence he could mentally adjust to life in the Championship. Whilst some may say that would have been unfair, it was obvious to me that the lack of resources at the club mean...

This is getting ridiculous. When you're male, white, a natural born citizen of the UK, heterosexual, middle aged, educated, fully limbed, democratic, and secular, it appears we are Devils Incarnate... #JeSuisCharlieBrown At least I've got Snoopy who loves me. Honestly, I've no clue why you're going on with yourself but I'm assuming you've some stuff you need to get of your chest - nothing your saying seems related to anything I've said at all. I'm not particularly fussed Madine has gone and if the reported fees are correct then we've done well getting r...

Re: Six Nations 2018
Cracker of a scrap between France and Ireland (my second team in every sport) . Ireland won with a drop goal past the 80 mins. They were 13-12 down then. Half the time no ball was needed; it was just like a monster bar-brawl with the French No 7( an Eiffel tower in rugby kit) not the least in dishi...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
If the style of play has to change, so be it. We couldn't hang on to Madine anyway if reports are correct. Not as easy as that.. It's not just a 'style of play'.. It's a culture that has been ingrained into this club since 1999. We've tried changing it and suffered as a result. A direct, aggressive...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
I suppose I am a bit of a romantic remembering the Rioch team of Mcginley and Walker. He got a song out of shortish forwards. Bruce's tactic was simple - get it down, pass it wide, cross it in. Note our two goals at Anfield were headers from crosses. Since then the average centre-back has become a ...
