Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Fabulous game of football. When I saw the team sheet, I was concerned about one thing. Jones over Iredale. My concerns manifested itself in the opening 10 mins. Kamara. I have watched him play before, and he is dangerous and pacey. Toal was covering Ogbeta too deep, and Kamara was able to exploit th...

Good game. Its on a knife edge. Can't call it but we certainly are looking dangerous and our defense is standing firm, having learnt how to deal with Kamara pace on the right. They are going down easily, so we have to be careful, especially in the penalty area.

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Well Jones comes back into the starting line up. I'm a little surprised by this but its clear that Evatt believes Jones can be relied upon to offer exactly what he requires. I personally would've stuck with Iredale as part of the defensive three but I trust Evatt to make the right call. Lovely to s...

Forrester might be left behind for Morely to have more cover in Midfield.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 2:11 pmSo you're expecting Iredale at LCB and Ogbeta al LWB? I'd agree with that

Very risky Dibble. Too much at stake in this run in to not have Coleman on the bench.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 5:07 pmNlundulu will be interesting - certainly offers a different dynamic, maybe more for the following games. Might see a return to no keeper on the bench.

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
A point from the game would be minimum for me. We need to get something and not lose. A win, I would take that if it came but not feeling optimistic when I remember the game in December. We were outclassed save for Charles open goal miss after Bods header was pushed to him. I remember Yengi destroyi...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Winning all our remaining games is easy to say, but based on our recent form, is also highly unlikely. The good thing is that 75% of our remaining games are at home where we are stronger. Fingers crossed hoping that we will improve our form and win them all plus the playoffs. Evatt need to motivate ...

Cant see Derby dropping anymore points. Thought Wycombe away for them would be our best bet, but with them losing the final, it will be hard for them to pick themselves up having nothing to play for now.

Professional performance today, get the job done three points in the bag and move on. The importance of next week cannot be underestimated, win and I truly fancy us to grab second place. If we do end up in the play offs , looking at the other teams, I fear no one and would be confident of promotion...

We did it.... just about. Better 2nd half despite being under the Cosh for most of it. Found a way to win so signs of a good team. Baxter kept us in it when the going got tough. Easily Man of the Match for me. A timely return, not taking anything away from Coleman.. but class is class.

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
A poor first half by Bolton despite having more possession. No shots on target, one effort on goal.. high and wide, Baxter forced to make 2 saves. We will have to do much better if we are to get anything out of this game. Our forwards are being starved and our crossing horrible. Get a grip. Playing ...

No surprizes with the team selection. Welcome back Baxter. Good job Coleman. Now to take care of business on the field.

Interesting to see what team Evatt puts out now that most have recovered from injury. I am feeling that injuries forced him to pick a settled side which is now starting to click as we approach the playoffs. Do we tinker with it. I am afraid too much tinkering will have a negative effect as it always...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
:D I am sure the team that beat Reading will turn up. However, Its what the opposition does that will make us look like world beaters or like wankers. Some will see the Derby vs Portsmouth game and say.. hey, how on earth are those teams ahead of us? We are better than they are based on how they loo...

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock
We took care of business in impressive fashion against a team that play open football.. no high press...no defensive blocks. The type of game that suits us to the "tee", and we at times we played some lovely stuff. A shout out to Collins and his hatrick, I especially liked his 3rd where he spun on a...

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm
There is a question for me as to whether our league one players are good enough to play the football demanded of them, to the level of consistency required. Champagne football with pub players or something like that? Dacres Cogley is a prime example, he puts the yards in, wins his battles, but his ...

I am not an Evatt basher. He is learning the art of management and has not yet reached his ceiling. However, there are games in which he has been outmanaged, mainly because he is a slave to his system, and cannot find on field solutions when it doesnt work. I see more seasoned managers in our leagu...
