Re: Freedman out!
Steve Bruce gets some stick but he got promoted at Zola's expense last season with what seemed to be a less talented squad.
PS Mad Mick has got Ipswich up to 5th, surprised no-one has mentioned it?

Re: Winter ashes...
On the one hand you can look at this in the context of the last few Ashes series, and say that every good team has a hard time at some point. I can't go with that though when you consider how England were such strong favourites. You don't go from being so much better to so much worse in such a short...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Park Run at Leverhulme Park this morning. Nice to catch up with Lever End again albeit briefly. Unofficial time of 23:12 (31st overall) Looked like you were running strongly, few cobwebs blown away. I was bloody freezing, wished I was running if only for that. Going to be boring and just do gentle ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched The Hobbit 2. Surprisingly good. Sorry if it ruins it for anyone but Bilbo survives. I wasn't impressed if I'm honest, which is a shame as I'd been looking forwards to it all year. Very dark, different feel than the first one entirely. Doesn't compare well with what Jackson did with LO...

AHEM! Spoiler alert.TANGODANCER wrote:Just watched an old classic: The Prisoner of Zenda. What a great ending when the villain jumps up onto a castle windowsill, say "Fare well, I too shall return to fight another day!" and dives into the moat and swims off. Brilliant...

Re: Freedman out!
I rate Zola as a manager. He did a good job with Watford last year and whilst things didn't work out for him against this season, I think he'll go on to be a good manager in the future. He's a lot better than Freedman is anyway. But shirley people can look at Freedman's record last year and say tha...

Re: Cardiff Dragons!
“@SkySportsNews: Cardiff owner Vincent Tan: "Far too much dirty linen has been exposed to the public gaze and not by me" - hear the full statement on #SSN” To be fair to him he's right. Mackay has constantly used the media to project his version off events. He did release a statement slagging off M...

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
Apparently according to Brendan, being from Bolton makes you a closet Man City fan. He'll get in trouble for these comments. I didn't realise that Prem ref Lee Mason was the older brother of Andy, who used to play for us. He didn't specially mention Bolton though...... Link I know, he's just lumped...

No. You haven't been listening. Douglas has stated categorically that anyone who thinks we should play with 2 strikers is WRONG. consider this post part of your education.malcd1 wrote:I've corrected your mistake.Wrighty92 wrote:Beckford and Mason to be our foxes in the box?

Re: New Manager Syndrome (Tykes Boxing Day)
Squeeky bum time. Matt Mills coming on. Trying to defend a one goal lead. Booooooooo Don't mind with 5 to go, come on! Row Z and all that. Football grounds now have 12 balls on standby to make such tactic useless sadly. Mind you you knew that anyway. I meant in terms of sending it as far away as po...

Re: New Manager Syndrome (Tykes Boxing Day)
Was in the car listening for 5 mins either side of the goal and we were pulverising them. Time to go for a 2nd? They've had their chances, I wouldn't want to be inviting them on by sitting back, even with another CH.

Re: Freedman out!
Also, the moment our home support gets on their case when things are not going well, they seem to wilt and want to hide. Our team needs some individuals with guts. This is a myth. Our fans have not been on their case this season anywhere near as much as they might have been. Yes there have been gru...
