Re: Tonight's Football

I don't think it matters too much how England look in qualifying - nor even necessarily how good a team we have (though clearly it matters) the thing is whether they have the mentality and ability to get over the line in major competition. Its an intangible thing almost. Italy weren't better than u...

Re: Jon Dadi….

I actually agree with you both. However, it wasn't idiotic to re-sign him. At the time most people were pleased he'd signed.
It could turn out he's a spent force - and I genuinely hope he isn't - but the decision to sign him again was right at the time based on what everyone knew then

Re: Jon Dadi….

Isn't that the whole point though? Lack of judgement called out by non professionals? ie they are the professionals and the experts, so their judgement surely counts more? I know in my job I've made great calls and equally bad calls, but very rarely I have taken counsel from a load of lay people to ...

Exactly this though...
Non of us see any of them in training day in day out. Evatt and the management team do, and they obviously think/thought they've seen enough of JDB & Dan (& others) to warrant a place in the squad and team...

Re: Jon Dadi….

Not sure it's that clear. He was injured for most of last season and looking good beforehand - I absolutely get the logic of offering him a new deal. I also recall the overwhelming majority of people on here were pretty damn pleased when it was announced. Maybe hindsight is a wonderful thing and all...

Thanks ref. Might stop him diving. Stupidity.
Yup. He had a right mard on from the first minute and spent most of the game arguing with someone.
Not his greatest game for us....

Sack all of them. No battle. No fight. It’s why we won’t go up. Attitude. Too many with not enough fight, scrap. Evatt with the suicide subs too. They don’t represent what I want or expect. Bolton is a working town that has a team that at the very least always fights. This team doesn’t. It’s not so...

Re: This Pizza tastes of Man Ure! Bolton v Utd Kids @H Tues 260923.

I also think his appetite is always questionable. Does he really want it? I can see Bod straining every inch to do well even if it doesn’t always work. But Dan to me at times looks like he needs reminding he has to make the run or close his opponent down. Also, be wary of confirmation bias: we all ...

How about we just let IE get in with it.

Maybe he thinks it's of more value to give the senior players a confidence boost by leaving them on?

I see that Iles had to post a warning on his Deadline Day blog about foul mouthed messages and rants saying that some were actually libellous. He's had to delete a fair few. What a fine set of fans. Do we have bigger kn*b-head fans than most teams, or all they all the same do you think? I don't see...

Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

Q: Can fans not now shout at players or the manager to f off at matches when when we are poor or getting beat, should they be playing really bad or the manager is making really poor subs etc ? Sorry, do you really need to ask that?!?! Simple answer - in case you actually nee'd it - is no. Of course...

Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

Bottom line we need promotion or this season is a failure to progress and meet targets. Sweet Jesus. Give it a rest please. FFS we're 5 games into a 46 game season. We've won 3, drawn 1, lost 1. We're not yet out of any cups. We're 3rd in the (very early) league table The world - as far as I can te...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I agree. We lost - and always knew we would lose - our best and 2nd best players at the end of the season. We were always going to be weaker as a result. I'd argue it would have been nigh on impossible to replace.tjr quality of those 2 in our position. However, we've made the best fist we.can of rep...
