Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

IE on Santos: “Not great, he has got a slight tear behind his calf. It is in a position which makes it a little bit more complicated than it ordinarily would be.” Not always easy to follow Marc's deadline scribbles. I read this as "Santos has a small tear, rested for 2 weeks", "Toal can hopefully p...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Serious point - if as rumoured Santos has a bad injury and is out for a while - back four would make sense and we could play Collins and CMG off a striker. But then you've got very little to do when your wingers get tired. You're throwing on players like Charles, Bod or Vic into wide areas, unless ...

BBC Manchester tweeted we'd signed Taylor and then deleted.

No backsies, Jack!

Without harshing Ghost’s buzz…
Na, it's fine. Good signing for them if they can get it over the line in time.

Next season we'll be in the Championship and with the new data chaps involved we'll see what we can go.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Looks like it'll be Taylor in on loan and Matheson out on loan.

Honestly, well done to all involved. Really don't want to find out who is hurt, but this is good work.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

One other other thing. Taylor is young enough that we can still register all the injured lads, in case we can give them some minutes late on in the season as part of their rehab. We might well choose not to, but it'll probably keep them motivated.

That’s encouraging. He sounds like the exact sort of player I had in mind.
I think you'd be happy. The lad is a fecking unit of a human being.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Have to say that if we leave this window with Ogbeta, Ramsay, Collins and Taylor it's been some going from Markham et al.

You're not getting much better at this level.

If he played 45 games for Cheltenham he must be competent.

Only concern would be Cheltenham I can’t imagine we’re playing a high line…..
Not often, no; but he's no slouch. Also decent with his feet.

Believe he and Dan got on very well, which may have played a part if Nicko is correct.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I spotted Caleb Taylor on twitter a moment ago and I'm thinking is that not a risk? Spent last season on Loan at Cheltenham and hasn't had a game this season thus far? I think he was good enough at this level to say it's not much of a risk, but positions will vary. West Brom promised him games whil...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Sorry, my bad - I got confused and thought he was on a free. It's possible they could loan him out. Be funny to have Jamie's lad here for a bit more positive promotion juju :D The link was not lost on me and the kid would be gold at this level. Jamie's other lad has been bouncing around non-league ...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Wouldn't be a loan though, if we believe Marc's intel. Believe Watford have struggled to find him a suitable route out and there's been a bit of a barny; but I agree it's unlikely to be him. More's the pity. Hopefully the kid gets himself a move to Aberdeen where he's appreciated. So much potential.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Wonder who that is? I was glad to see Iles’ reaction to Reece James was the same as mine… There has been Scottish and League One interest in Mattie Pollock, who would be an ideal Santos stand-in. Someone on twitter suggested Caleb Taylor, who is also apparently a wanted man. How quickly can we fly ...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

The positive spin on deciding they need a defender in that they've had a scare sending two lads for scans and the board have greenlit not taking the risk.

The negative would of course be that someone is actually injured after all.

In other news, Aaron Collin's barber is trying some David Copperfield shit with that hairline.

The only way I can describe it is "Lego hair on a playmobile man."

Jack has confirmed that he meant the confirmation of Collins signing.

Breath people, this is going to be a long 10 hours otherwise.
Good journalism, DJB. Go back to source and check. As opposed to “spread panic”. 😁
